The views where good

We went here two years ago and had an amazing time, unfortunately things have changed a lot……..the boat had not been cleaned and had cobwebs all over the cabin, the mattress for the bed was too big which left the mattress feeling like it had slops on it……(I’ve got to say I’ve stayed in a few places but the bed in this place was so bad I slept on the floor)….. The decking had two chairs however the desk was upside down with one leg on it, there was still previous holidays people’s belongings in the toilet, tooth brush (used) shower get etc…….. The front door didn’t lock which meant we had to keep our belongings in the car as we had activities booked out with custom lake………. On arrival the gentle man handed me the key, after which he appeared uncontainable……we mad a mistake in leaving our phones at home (trying to have a relaxing time without work etc) please do not do this here as there is literally no way of getting anyone to help…….we went to the office several times and waiting for long periods and even walked into the office to wait but again no one was about, when leaving the accommodation to head home we handed the key back to an empty office again………. The only reason we stayed the two night was due to activities that we had booked, we even considered looking for a B&B somewhere so we could be a bit more comfortable……… It’s also worth mentioning the surrounding area is starting to look more like a dumping ground that a holiday resort This is £175 per night……we are both saddened and disappointed in the trip…….we both work hard and have very demanding careers and look forward to these get aways to spend time with each other, please pay attention to your customers and the boats you are renting out, no one should be subject to such low standards in this day in age……… I would also like to add, on booking.

Fantastic property - never stayed on a houseboat before but it was superb. Everything I needed was there, very comfortable and the location was idyllic.

Peace & quiet, water view on your doorstep. Ewan was helpful & nice to talk to.

Boat needs a new mattress that one is well past its use by date, very uncomfortable. Wouldn't like to have to try & sleep there another night. 2 nights of poor sleep was enough.

Peaceful, tranquil, warm, and comfortable, we were greeted with swans and geese every morning, 2 nights was not enough

Nothing

They cancelled on us due to the boiler being broken in the pod and said we could have a full refund, we had travelled quite a long way to get there so were disappointed we hadn't been advised of an issue before we travelled, applied for a refund the next day and the company said no and haven't answered any correspondence from myself or booking.com since.

The resident resort manager was absolutely brilliant couldn't be more helpful would definitely go again.

The house keeper we met and she was lovely. She clearly does a very good job of keeping the pods clean and on top form Also ewan the man that watches over the place was lovely so nice makes you feel comfortable from collecting the keys to you leave Please feels safe , peaceful and over all a great weekend.
