City Centre Apartment - Fantastic Location

The apartment was how it was described. Couldn't fault it.

I found the check in confusing as I do not have a smartphone. I had to give my sons number so that the information could be sent to his smartphone. We were an elderly group and I think that it is assumed that everyone is able to access a smartphone but there are many people who do not have one. It would be nice if there was another way to inform people of the checking in process.

Great location near Broad Street but very quiet. Very comfortable. Easy to find.

Communication could have been better - had to message several times to get a reply on a query and instructions for locking up were out of date.

The location was great as we were at a conference at the IOC. It’s compact, clean and worked well for 4 of us. Coffee and tea were available which was welcome. Pre arrival comms were great

Getting into the apartment wasn’t straightforward as the buzzer which goes to a phone wasn’t answered initially. The water was cold. We reported it and someone was there within the hour which was appreciated. We were advised it was fixed later that day but returning that eve the water was still cold. Two days of cold showers so I asked for some compensation and haven’t heard anything.

The apartment was in a fantastic location in the city centre, lots of restaurants and bars nearby and was ideal for our concert in the Utilita Arena which was less than a 5 minute walk away.

The apartment wasn't the easiest to find as the address on booking.com differed from the one provided by the host. When we arrived the smoke alarm was beeping due to needing a new battery, when I phoned the emergency contact number for the apartment I was told they wouldn't be able to come and fix it until the morning. I explained that I didn't think this was acceptable as we would struggle to sleep through the constant beeping, so they then said they would come that night but made sure I knew they were having to travel 45 mins to do so. When going to bed we then realised we couldn't lock the front door from the inside, and the entire lock was falling off the door. I advised the host and again was advised he wouldn't be able to come until the morning. We eventually managed to get it locked but didn't feel entirely comfortable with the lock being faulty. The host did then come the next morning and fix it. Overall we can't really fault the host too much as they did fix both issues but we felt like we were an inconvenience to them. I would suggest these things should be checked before guests arrive especially as the hosts don't live very close to the apartment for any emergencies.
