City Centre Apartment - Fantastic Location

The host was really nice and accommodating ,let us to check in early and communication was good. Excellent location to explore and easily accessible to public transport.

This apartment has an allocated parking space that is big enough for a normal van. The quietness was overwhelming - we had the windows open but kept saying how quiet it was outside.

Beds were comfortable.

Barely any hot water in the bathroom to have a shower. It was not worth the money. The landing and the halls to the apartment absolutely stunk, there was mould and a very bad smell. It is not ideal with small children.

The location of the apartment, which comes with car parking on site, was really the only positive about our stay here.

Upon arrival, in order to enter the property/car parking we needed to enter a code on the gate/doors, provided by the host ahead of our arrival. This door code then called an external mobile allowing the host to 'buzz' us into the property remotely. We had advised the host ahead of our arrival that we would be arriving late in the evening (after 10.30pm). It took some 10+ attempts to gain access, they were not immediately responding to the door code call. I was left with having to contact them using Whats app as well as the door code key pad. One we eventually got inside, there is then a secondary code using the same method of entry to access the main internal areas of the apartments. These key pads were not working to allow external calls/remote entry. There was no way of the host giving us access remotely. We were advised by the host at this point to report to the concierge on site., in doing so we were asked to lie to them as to our reasons for our stay. We were asked to tell the concierge that we had locked our own keys in our apartment and needed access. Upon speaking with the concierge, it is clear that this apartment is not permitted under its lease arrangement to permit short term lettings for less than 6 months. The concierge was unhappy with allowing us access, but for my two small children and the late hour, I don't think we would have gained access. This whole process took around 45 mins and was really disappointing and uncomfortable. The apartment itself is basic and a little tired and some items are broken, limited furniture. I had to kill some silverfish on entry which indicates there to be a damp problem. The main bedroom does not have a single area to store clothes. Not draws or similar. What appears to be a wardrobe (albeit the front is a giant curtain as opposed to a door) is actually full of clutter/washing machine/bedding and other items. It cant be used for any other purpose for guests.
