The Lady of the Lake Windermere

The location was great, 2 minute walk to the waters edge with idyllic views and scenery. The area is spotless and clean. The cottage was lovely with everything you need, stunning views. Anya was lovely and very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

A quiet location, with a beautiful view! The property was fabulous, everything you might have needed and more. The location was perfect to walk to nearby places, with a lakes bus also a minute away means you can park your car up and not have to drive if you don't want to.

Anya's cottage was cosy and inviting, with a brilliant view of Lake Windermere, super heating, a well equipped kitchen and on site parking. Despite being so close to the lake, the area is quiet and we enjoyed the private access to the lake nearby (shared with other cottages). It's a small cottage so the bedroom isn't large but the bed was comfy and the shower was decent. The boardgames and books were a nice touch, as well as blankets. Anya's communication was fantastic, she contacted us to check everything was ok and she kindly let us drop off our luggage early as we were travelling from another holiday rental.

The only (small) thing I would mention is the oven could perhaps have been cleaner as when we turned it on we could smell other people's meaty dishes. The oven wasn't obviously dirty however and the cottage was clean throughout.

This little property had everything I wanted for a few nights in the Lake District. It was perfectly appointed, a home from home, close to local facilities and very well located for sightseeing. The views from the front window, especially at sunrise and sunset, were a delight. As a woman alone, I felt safe here, even when wandering to the private jetty at dusk. Anya was exceptionally welcoming and provided lots of useful information for my stay.

The cottage was nice and warm, but I wish I'd packed my slippers, as the lovely natural flooring was a bit cold on my feet (obviously I doubled up on the socks and was fine :D )
