It was a bit cold in there

Perfect for The Box and a short walk to the city centre and harbour.

Could have been dusted better. Bathroom a bit tired but functional and clean. The main heater did not work, but the auxiliary heaters provided did the job.

Location was convenient for the city centre and Barbican. Private carpark. Great shower. My second stay there and I would stay again when visiting family.

Restricted street parking making it difficult for visitors to park but that's typical of Plymouth city centre residential streets.

Sandie, who seemed a lovely lady, kindly allowed me to drop my suitcase off before Check In and handed me the keys. Location was close enough to walk to the City Centre and the Harbour. Bus timetables and sightseeing leaflets provided were helpful. All appliances required (and more!) were in situ. since the hosts live there at times, too. Msg. to Sandie: I've put the Wifi P/W & Sky PIN in front of Guest folder for quick access. I'm sorry the majority of my review is negative - but it is honest - and needs to be said for the benefit of other guests.

Sandie, the Host, doesn't ensure that cleaning standards are maintained. Expected letting standards are clearly different to hers, living there. E.g. bulb on LHS bedside cabinet was U/S; she asked me to use front door, when going out - she was aware that the outside small handle kept coming out of the socket - I had to put my hand in the letterbox to close it;. Whilst functional, the M/wave was rusting; electric hob was time-consuming - I gave up with the Right front ring (I could only get it to reach heat level 2) - so used Front L instead. Profile states Toilet Roll is provided - just the part-used roll was left for the 6 days; no spares. [I shldn't have had to, but chkd in the Airing Cupbd/ wardrobe/kitchen cupbds, but couldn't find any]. Sound insulation - plumbing design? I'm afraid I could hear the noise every time a tap was turned on in the upstairs Apts, 24/7 [loud arguments from those upstairs - if she is also their L/lord, she should remind them to be more considerate]. HYGIENE - most important of all for health/safety! Hosts appear NOT to have taken on board the repeated negative reviews about cleanliness since they began letting the Apt. This is evident, especially in the bathroom. IF they/their cleaning team DID carry out proper cleaning schedules after each Let, the reviews would genuinely be more favourable. The bed had been made up, the carpet vac'd and the kitchen worktops wiped down. In the bathroom, there is no loo brush, the light switch handle was grimy, the surfaces and tiles around the bath/shower hadn't been wiped down, Sandie had left her personal part-used bars of soap on the holder, the shower hose was black - longstanding dirt, appearing never to have been cleaned, on arrival, the spout of R sink tap was dirty brown when wiped. I had strip-washes in the sink, instead of showers, after wiping the hair snare! The dated floor tiles were 'lifting' in places.

Good presentation, neat and tidy. Everything we needed was available or easily accessible. The landlady was always pleasant and happy to help whenever we needed assistance.

Nothing comes to mind.

Location and parking

Check in wasn’t ready for 3 o’clock as advertised cleaner still on site. Parking permit had not been issued resulting in having it sent through then going into town to get it printed off!
