The apartment was spacious and comfortable,it was well furnished and the fire was a lovely addition for when we got back after a long day out after it had started raining

The only couple of things that would have been better for our stay would have been a small table and few chairs (we ended up eating our pizzas on our laps ) and sharp knife ( there was a picture of some on the listing but not in the actual apartment )

The location of this property was perfect for us, as we only really visit Blackpool to go to the Pleasure Beach and the Sandcastle, both of which are a short walk away. Having a parking space was also a huge plus for us. The property is well equipped with everything needed for a short stay, including a full kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, toaster and kettle. There are also plenty pots and pans and utensils. A table to sit and eat at would be a welcome addition.

We had a significant delay getting into the property as I was only informed on the afternoon of check in that a £100 security deposit was required before security codes to enter the property would be shared. As I was driving, I didn’t see the message until after we arrived. The delay gaining access to the property meant we had to cancel our planned activities for the afternoon. Although this property has been recently renovated, the standard of workmanship is, in my opinion, poor, and it seems unfinished. For example, outside the front door there is a large ventilation tube coming from the ground, which is a real tripping hazard. Our biggest issue, however, was the extensive damp throughout the property, and the associated smell, which was highly unpleasant. I think I would’ve been able to forgive the other issues, and consider returning, if it wasn’t for the smell.

The mould all around the back door, the mould behind the bathroom sink The woodlice in the hall, lounge, bathroom and kitchen due to the clear wood rot….. oh and the slugs in the kitchen Sent pictures to the property managers and they tried to fob me off and insinuated I was making it up. The property was also unclean. The hairs on the pillows made us feel like they hadn’t been changed. When we complained about the state of the property I received a call from the head of house keeping but we were busy and couldn’t meet with them.

Stayed at 61 Withnell apartments, ground floor flat, apartment 1, for 2 nights first one on the right as you walk in. nice flat. Decent sized rooms. Close to the pleasure beach and away from the sea front, close to a local shop and a few takeaway places on the door step

BUT there was an awful smell that could knock you out. Smelt as if the bin hadn't been emptied in a while, the living room hadn't been cleaned correctly, found a live wood lice behind the sofa along with a dark stain and dirt all under the sofa. The double room under the bed hadnt been hoovered in a long time, crumbs underneath the headboard along with dust all over the bed frame. Luckily I caught the cleaner before she went away and she amended it all to our standard. In the kitchen there is a fire door that DOES NOT open, tried contacting the owner about this via the number provided on BOOKING.COM to be told it meets the fire evacuation policy, and that they are booking.com. There is mould in the kitchen, above the fire exit along with a very strong smell of water damage underneath the kitchen sink. In the double bedroom the window/door DOES NOT open therefore there is no means of air circulation, there is also signs of mould around said window/door. The drainage system is non existant, it literally flows to the ally beside the apartment. The bath tub drains very slowly. The fire alarm system in the kitchen is lose, its an open Wire. The cutlery and crockery that is provided was all dirty. In the single room, the paint is peeling of the wall, along with a hole behind the electric heater. In the LIVING ROOM we found a TOTAL of 5 LARGE WOODLICE alive and moving during our stay, a crusty stain the on sofa. I would highly recommend you STAY AWAY from this apartment. I have very high suspicions the cleaners didn't do a thorough job, we went and bought our own cleaning products, plastic cutlery and plastic plates and cleaned everything before we used it. The owner asks for a £100 security deposit before arrival but be aware you most probably won't get it back for 7 days after you check out. After reading a few reviews on Google, I have waited untill I received the deposit back to upload this review.

Everything is good

The apartment was easy to find and in a great location. Furniture was modern and decorated to a plain modern standard with great facilities like kitchen all utensils, shop just round the corner.

The apartment didn't quite live up to expectations. It was kinda rough, black mold on the walls, windows desperately in need of a good clean, and the paint peeling off. Dust and cobwebs were everywhere, giving off this not-so-great vibe. The moldy smell didn't help either. Then there was this persistent leak at the back that turned into a not-so-soothing soundtrack for the night. The kitchen door was a bit wonky. not locked properly but jammed, which made me a bit uneasy. And, oh, the patio door lock to the bedroom was fixed with tissue. a bit sketchy, to be honest. All in all, the place fell short, and I left slightly disappointed.
