Westgate Apartments

The beds were comfortable.

Not the layout of the apartment booked online, we booked two bedrooms, one with a double and a single and the other with bunks. General cleanliness was very poor. There was a plug supplying electricity to the apartment next door labelled “do not unplug”. Toiletries that were said to be provided were appeared to have been just left behind from previous occupants. A black bag was left discarded at the top of our stairs door. The beds were loose with untightened bolts.

Decent value for money and the owner was very flexible with check in time which helped us massively as we had an event on prior to check in time.

Facilities were not the best but appreciate it is relatively low priced in comparison to other local apartments/ hotels. could also smell cigarette smoke in the apartment which contributed to our group opinion on the cleanliness. A further improvement would be for a hairdryer to be added to the amenities available. hand soap could also be added to the bathroom.

Great base to go to sightseeing spots. Spacious and great value for money. Lots of shops nearby. Can park right outside property and it’s free.

There was smell as if someone had been smoking cigarettes in the apartment but this was resolved quickly by buying some air freshener from local Asda round the corner (which was handy). So didn’t cause issues and no further bother.

Simple nice rooms, not a bad location as it isnt too far from town.

The whole apartment building stank of weed, and the shower door was too small so water would leak out of the shower onto the floor.

Brilliant location for our visit to St James’ Park. Comfortable and clean. Everything we needed.
