4 star on booking.com causes unrealistic expectations. Although value for money is acceptable, a 4 star rating sets ecpectations on quality.

The flat is extremely out of date, everything is very old and scary. We booked it for three nights but left it after the first one. We couldn't stay there and booked another hotel.

The only good things about this place is that I didn't see any bugs and the Wi-Fi is decent.

Don't stay here if you want both a shower and a dry bed. The shower is in the bedroom, which is weird enough, but the shower head shoots over the stall door! It smells and looks like it probably leaks (but I can't confirm because I opted for the dry bed). The window in the bathroom doesn't fully shut, so it is very drafty. The apartment never gets warm, and the heater in the bedroom doesn't work. I thought it was a recent issue, but when I contacted the owners, they said that was why they left the space heaters. How about you... fix the heat?? I was constantly moving the only space heater that actually projected warmth around the place. The picture of the tiny space heater is next to the broken heater. Somehow those are supposed to be comparable. Based on a review from nearly a year ago, the heat and bathroom window have been long-standing issues. The bed is *very* firm and you can hear the street noise like it's in the room with you. The floorboards all creak, and the one in front of the entry trashcan (really it's the kitchen trash, but its left by the front door) wobbles so badly that I thought my foot would go through the (terrible) carpet. They have a coffee station, but no actual coffee. There was flour or something in the coffee tin and only a tiny bit of instant. Tons of salt, but no pepper. Wine glasses, but no bottle opener. I ordered one, so there's one there now. When I asked the owners, they said previous guests must have stolen it. I'm questioning who would steal such a thing. The address is wrong on the listing, but they don't give you the real address until a week before check-in. It's close to essentially nothing, next door to a car dealership and McDonald's. I couldn't get an Uber or Bolt to save my life! I asked a driver and he said that it wasn't a great part of town, among other reasons, why drivers don't like going there.

The fold out camp bed was not suitable for sleeping on

The place was not too far from the city centre, around 30 min by bus, which is scheduled from two to four times an hour. The bed and the kitchen were fine, also the place itself was okeyish if being on budget.

First of all, there is a shower cabin in the bedroom itself (no, not a separate room, just a cabin). Also, I really did not enjoyed the smell, it looked like somebody tried to mask smoking smell with cleaning chemicals. There was a lot of plastic flowers and fake lighting candles in the living room and basically everywhere, it was super awkward.

Nice bed, cooking and washing opportunities. The shower is in the bedroom but we didn't mind that. It was nice that there was soap & schampoo as well as coffee and tea. We got very good instructions about how to get the key and how to take the bus etc

Me amongst others thought the place were 15 min walk to central Edinburgh. Big fail. Very depressing neighbourhood.. Strange with all the stickers everywhere in the apartment. Everything missmatched and just kind of weird. Didn't get the whole deposit back either and we didn't break anything. We actually left some food and snacks but maybe that was just a bad thing to do...?
