Walkers Retreat with garden and views

I've just had the most amazing stay at Walkers Retreat - everything was absolutely lovely. It's in a quiet, peaceful location with stunning views. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and well equipped. There are homely touches everywhere and it feels well looked after and well loved.I really appreciated the hosts' kindness, Samantha was helpful and welcoming. The village of Holne is charming, with tea room, shop and historic pub which serves delicious food. I would definitely love to return.

The location is fabulous and on some super walking routes. The local pub is an absolute gem and really made our weekend.

There were a couple of things that need looking at... The front door wasnt easy to open or close... The shower was very rusty and the bath mat was mouldy. Also the window at bottom of stairs looked directly into bathroom from the main driveway so a proper blind needs to putting in. There was a slight price discrepancy that left a bitter taste on departure sadly and we had to leave a night early

We loved everything about this place! So so welcoming with many lovely homely touches. The hosts were so helpful and friendly. We just felt so at home and relaxed here. PLUS the fantastic location for walks (directions for the best walks kindly recommended by the hosts) and very cosy pub with yummy ale and food just around the corner. We would recommend 100% and would definitely come again ourselves! Thank you so much Samantha and Alex!

Nicely set up annexe, in beautiful grounds, with exceptional views from the breakfast table, across the valley. I expect it would be stunning in summer. The annexe has probably the biggest bed we’ve ever slept in too. The garden was beautiful, and as it was fully enclosed and safe to excercise our dog off lead before heading out. Fabulous walks from the doorstep onto Dartmoor or along the stunning Dart valley. Particularly liked being able to walk 10 mins to the pub, or the well stocked village shop (which also had a coffee shop serving light lunches, Sunday roasts, and excellent cakes). A very friendly village, and we will definitely be back in better weather.

The property felt a little damp, but this is not unusual when staying anywhere in December.

The accommodation was fully equipped and in a beautiful location. The host was very welcoming and there was plenty of information about walks and the surrounding area.

The bed was a little soft for my liking.
