Withnell Stays - Apartment Six

The decor and furniture was modern enough and it was spacious. With decent WiFi and TVs.

The first night we had no heating or hot water. We contacted the owner but they weren't very helpful. After messaging them back and forth, we were then told they were "closed" and we had to email. We had to wait until the next morning before getting help with the heating. This was April so it was cold. We also had a 2 year old and a 10 year old in the apartment. We were also on the top floor. The building doesn't have a lift which is fair enough but getting the pram up and down a narrow staircase wasn't easy. The entrance to the building also has no path, just stones, which made it impossible to push the pram to the door, we had to lift it. We paid for parking around the back which was £10 per night. The parking was decent but it didn't feel the safest place to leave a car. The surroundings of the building were also full of litter and broken furniture from neighbouring buildings. The morning of checkout, the owner (I assume) chapped the door around 10:30/11am asking why we hadn't checked out yet. We weren't sure what time checkout was, but we quickly vacated the apartment. We had paid a £100 refundable deposit and because of this late checkout they deducted £20.

Everything, from the interior design to the comfortability its was lovley...

The fire was broken and the heating took me a little to work but apart from that was fab

Do be carful.. if you are late checking out you will be charged !! However they do not tell you this when booking! They ask for a 'damage' deposit off £100 which i paid happily. Knowing we wouldn't damage anything and it would be returned. Only to be told after asking for my deposit back nothing was damaged and it would be returned. Then only revied a portion of my deposit back. When I questioned this I was fed rubbish about late check out charges which are NOT mentioned in the booking process. Also it's the only property I have ever been asked to send a photo of my identification which I was not comfortable with at all. Shame as the apartment is lovely!!

This property has great potential to be really nice. The sofas are comfy and the arcade machine is a great touch! Just very run down and not very clean. It could do with a re-paint, a good clean and some decent mattresses then it would be great.

The street where you have to park your car at night they is no lights so quite scary going out to your car in a ruff back street and dirty nappy bags full of poo and glass bottles everywhere
