The Aylestone- Leicester City 1 Bedroom Apartment, Free Parking by YO ROOM!

Excellent location for us to walk to Victoria park for a concert. Able to park the car off road at the property . Even though it is on the main road we thought it was very quiet.

The smell as you walk in the main entrance, very strong maybe a pet dog smell. Noticed pet hairs on sofa. sofa not at all comfortable to sit on let alone sleep on. No dining table or anywhere to eat a meal. The bed was too spongy and sank. The the floor tiles in kitchen and bathroom all cracked. and the bath was not somewhere I would bathe and area next to bath was not very clean. The hot water stopped heating every night after 8 or 9pm. and the Wi-fi kept going off and stopped working. The kitchen tap handle was broken and kept falling off. Cushoins were stained and filthy. There was no coffee table apart from a tiny 40cmx40cm table. Ok if you just need a pit stop and to leave your luggage. Not comfortable. But low budget.

It had everything we needed, from sheets, towels and cutlery to TV, sofa and wardrobe. It was bigger than expected and I will definitely come back and recommend this place to my friends and family.

Some things needed a bit of repairing or looking after. It looked like the bathroom had been renovated recently but not really finished and the windows needed some cleaning but it didn’t bother us much. I’d like the kitchen to have some more bowls and plates to make cooking easier but we could still make it work with what was there otherwise it was great.

The room smelled of smoke and the mattress needs to be replaced.

Location was good. Spacious apartment with all the facilities needed as a base for our stay. A neat and tidy kitchen area, with all the utensils required to cook breakfast before venturing out for the day. Bedroom had comfortable bed and hanging space for clothes. Bathroom was functional. Large flat screen TV with streaming services via Wi-Fi. Contactless check in worked well.

Info on booking.com said no Wi-Fi was available but this is incorrect. Wi-Fi password was provided in check in info provided by host just a few hours before arrival. Wi-Fi is the only way to get the TV on. There is no aerial, cable or satellite so had to set up through Wi-Fi. Not really a problem for us, as we didn’t go to Leicester to watch TV!

Once we added our little touches to make the place a little more welcoming the apartment was quite nice to be in. WiFi wasn't the fastest but it was decent enough to use in place of 5G. Nothing seemed to be broken or out of place and where the apartment is situated there are quite a few shops up and down the road. The provision of a car park space was welcome as well.

The car park space is actually quite tight and not easy to park in for bigger/longer cars. The apartment is alright but it came across as a little knackered. There's a missing blind in the living room, which was slightly uncomfortable but not a major inconvenience. The shower pressure is a bit on the soft side and whenever you're washing your hands with hot water there's a really loud noise from the pump in the bathroom. The bathroom being next to the bedroom wasn't ideal either but it's not the end of the world at all
