The Barbershop Apartments

Easy enough to access, fine for a couple for a weekend break.

Cleanliness could have been better, hair in the shower and generally a bit dusty. No tea or coffee, thankfully the cafe across the street does brilliant breakfast!

There were a lot of things about the property that are style over function. The stairs up were incredibly narrow and the door to the apartment was so hard to physically open due to the carpet, my 6ft 100kg partener stuggled and it was a hassle every time we arrived/left the apartment. Another big annoyance was that the host wants all glassware/crockery etc cleaned before departure but didn't provide washing liquid or a dishwasher. We had to go buy washing liquid and hoped the previous people hadn't just rinsed things. The top floor (1 bed) apartment also isn't really suitable for tall people, lots of banging heads on sloped ceiling/light fittings. The hot water is on a timer which you can boost, but it takes about an hour for that to kick in if you are wanting to shower before it switches on

Really clean and compact home, large rooms. Well stocked kitchen. The host was accomodative in letting us checkin early and checkout late too. Bus stop right and supermarkets right outside. We had a great stay!

Bleached towels that we were given, bad condition of cookware and utensils so couldn’t really cook there, no washing liquid to clean the dishes, extremely hard to open the door to the apartment because of the carpet

Superb location, ultra modern apartment.

Spacious apartment with good sized rooms. Also has all the facilities needed. Great central location. There are mini markets and a few bars, cafe & take aways near by. Walking distance to main bus route and local train station.

Small faults that should have been picked up by the cleaning crews. Also flat door was open on arrival, but thankfully there is a secure main door. Sofa leg broken, so made temporary fix with a brick. One of bathroom spots not working, and shower hose slightly leaking. Contacted hosts via portal and also via their own website, but they never replied.

The facilities were lovely in The Barbershop apartments. The decor was pleasant and the whole place felt clean and well thought out.

The apartment slept 4 people but didn't really have space for 4 people to either lounge (there was a 3 seater sofa) or eat (there were 2 bar stools at the breakfast bar) so an extra armchair or a table and chairs would have been nice.

The location of the property was excellent and it was decorated really nice.

Hosts contacted me the day before the trip to advise there had been a boiler leak however assured me this would be cleaned and fixed before check in. Unfortunately, the morning after the check in the boiler was leaking again and there was no hot water. The hosts were prompt in their initial response to me and did get someone out to look at it but unfortunately there was no water at all after this and the hosts decided to stop communicating with me completely.

we were told by Booking.com that we would receive an email 24 hours before our stat with a code. We didn't receive said message. On our way from North Wales I telephoned Booking.com and eventually received a way to get the door code. This was however only one of two codes. It wasn't until we arrived that I received a very instructive message explaining everything. Poor service though to begin with. The place was roomy, beds very comfy, kitchen brilliant. Bathrooma nd shower were great but toilet seat was dodgy and the entry to the shower was very narrow and IK struggled being a portly person to get through the narrow fixed gap.

I have explained about the shower. There were two double beds which suggest that four people could stay here. However, there is one uncomfortable couch when there is room for two 2 seater setee's. No drawers in the bedrooms or anywhere in the bedroom for my wife to do her hair, no mirror. Finally a day before we were due to leave we were forced out by the cold. The heating was on a fixed timer and at 9.30 in the morning we were freezing and decided to go home. This place with a little thought could be amazing. A little art work would work too.

Location. Nicely finished. Ease of access. Self contained.

All small things, but as you asked: Would have liked more glasses (1wine and 1tumbler not enough), microwave container or Pyrex jug, hand towel in kitchen, new dish cloth in kitchen, spare pillows ( they were very flat). Tops of skirting needed cleaning. Sofa is too deep to sit comfortably and stools too tall to sit and tuck under counter to eat. Finally, a blind on bedroom skylights would be good.
