Kontokali Lake House

Kontokali lake house is in a beautiful setting, overlooking the lake, with lots of wildlife to admire, such as herons, birds & jumping fish! We had 3 balconies for our own use, from our two bedroom apartment, to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The property is a five minute walk from a lovely beach & Brunos taverna & casual restaurant, which serves Good reasonably priced food. The garden surrounding the house was lovely & there were small tables & chairs to sit by the lake & relax in the peaceful surroundings. The lady of the house was very accommodating.

The double bed could have been much more comfortable. Also the shower which was in the bath, was tricky at times to switch on, I think a separate shower would make all the difference! Otherwise we loved our stay!

Fabulous apartment with a wonderful view. We stayed in a 2 bed apt with lake view. Beds were comfy and the apartment had absolutely everything we needed. Full kitchen, perfectly OK to cook a meal and eat on the lovely spacious balcony. Our welcome was great. Housekeeping was every 2 days and was perfectly OK. One day they picked flowers from the garden and put them in a vase, so nice. Beach is lovely and just an 8 minute walk away. Nearest shop for essentials (water, wine , bread, etc) is 15 min walk and a full supermarket is 20 min walk away. Area is quiet and rural. Nearest restaurants are 15/20 min walk away but the beach had a lovely restaurant which is open day and night and is great. We had a fabulous fish platter one night plus several lunches. Really convenient for getting to Corfu Town, the bus stop is 15 mins walk. You can also get a bus to Kassiopi or Paleokastritsa. Gouvia marina is close and nice for a walk. It's a very quiet place, perfect to relax, not for anyone who wants a busy resort. If you are a Durrells fan, you can see the house they filmed the ITV series. Overall, this is a beautiful place to relax and a great base to explore the island by bus or car. I would return. Thank you very much to the owners, what a fab place.

Kontokali itself is not a really lovely resort compared to other places on the island. It's basically a street on the main highway. Harry's Taverna is great though on a weekend. The balcony, whilst huge with an amazing view does not get any sun and was chilly in late September.

Lovely location, great balcony views, close to the beach, lovely gardens and secluded. Good facilities in the apartment.

Nothing was bad but just few details - shower high attachment is far too high and sprays the wall, got charged for late check in even though it was due to a delay (and only about 40 mins after non charge period). But overall, excellent.

It's was a lovely place to stay. There was no air conditioning in the lounge only in the bedroom there was ants all over place. Kitchen light broke was fixed the next day

The lake could of been in better condition it was really smelly to sit near the water 🤦🏼‍♀️and lots of stuff rubbish witch made the view not so nice and the dangerous drive hill don't walk down it in heels or drunk 🤐

overall I was very satisfied although there was one disappointment: from the booking.com advert I understood that we would get an apartment with a view on the way which, unfortunately was not the case. we still had a nice terrace in the garden, but I found they should have clearly informed about it.

Poor WIFI connection in room 10

The host was very polite, met us on our arrival. When wifi was not really great we were offered a router amplifier which worked great.

We were expecting one double bed but we got two beds placed next to each other. They were comfortable though.
