Plaza Apartment

The apartment is in a wonderful position on the harbour front. It is an old property that has been sympathetically restored with some of the original features incorporated into the renovation. There is a wonderful rooftop terrace accessed by a quirky internal staircase with amazing views of the harbour and restaurants. Communication with owner was excellent and would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Chania.

The apartment is in the centre of a bustling area so noise should be expected. There is a nightclub behind the property which does stay open until the early hours but the bedroom has which appears to be triple-glazing and didn't affect our sleep.

Location and rooftop patio overlooking port was exceptional for late afternoon drinks.Plenty of nearby restaurants and shops.

Single beds need to be replaced as sofa beds unstable causing guest to fall on floor.

Very old furnishing, only one bathroom, very dirty and smelly front terrace. The restaurants underneath block the entrance with tables and chairs.

10/10 location. Good contact with hosts. Unreal rooftop view of chania. It is a very rare stay.

Some brand new appliances. Although two sofa beds were split into two mattresses and I fell through one of them. Should just replace with proper single bed mattresses. Also, the wifi did not work, even after contacting the host. It needs some upkeeping.

The location of the property.

Unfortunately, the apartment looks way to better than the pictures. Please note that this is not a two-bedroom apartment but a common space with one single bed and three coaches + small bedroom with double bed. It is so noisy that you should be tired to death or deaf not to be bothered by the music coming from all bars around. The apartment is above bars and taverns, there is no sign for it and is was very difficult to find it as the stairs to it are between two restaurants. After 30 minutes of searching we needed to call the owner about its exact location. The terrace shown on the pictures is reachable via narrow stairs and you need to pull roof cover which can be hot to touch it as it is heated by the sun (picture attached). There are no consumables in the apartment like shampoo and napkins. Only one shower gel was left (big bottle maybe from previous guests). Is it so hard to buy such things for not more than 5€ as we are paying waay to much for 4 nights?! One last thing - it was clean inside but outside the door there is a table with three chairs which are very, very dirty and we had to share them with a man who said he lives the next door, which is actually a storage.. The same person was watching porn while sitting there, so if you are travelling with children you should avoid this place. The walls and the front door are so old and dirty that you can barely recognize that this is a vacation place. Definitely not worthing the amount we needed to pay for 4 nights, 3 people.
