Stylish and most central 2 bed -Free Parking

Perfect for an extended weekend in York. This apartment is so central so it was brilliant for us to explore - a 3 minute walk from the Shambles Market. The apartment was also very stylish and well decorated. The host was also very communicative and helpful!

One of the bedrooms overlooks a very busy street, so it can get very noisy on a Saturday night and sleeping was a bit difficult. Also, there was a lack of basic amenities including very little toilet paper, there was no hand soap in the bathroom or shampoo/shower gel, etc. There was also some mould in the shower room.

Had a fab weekend in York, location perfect, plenty of space (there was 6 of us) facilities ideal for a break away. Would stay here again and again!

Only slight niggle was the sofabed wasn't as comfortable as hoped but we made it work!

Perfect location, rooms were spacious, warm and welcoming.

I am giving it a 9/10 only due to the fact of one or two things. The shower is veeeerrry tempermental, we couldn’t have a proper shower as it would go from freezing to scalding hot water within seconds. The other is there isn’t hangers in the room and because we were there for a wedding it was difficult to hang dresses and suits. Overall, the stay was gorgeous and would definitely be returning in the future.

If you're a family of 5, I'd pass on this apartment. There was little sleep to be had between the discomfort of the beds and the broken pull out. Add to that the construction going on next door that started at 6:30 a.m. We were also there during a heat wave. The place doesn't have air conditioning and didn't provide electric fans. Essentially it was like sleeping in a sauna. The only salvation was to open a window but come 6:30 am, that was over for reasons already covered. That heads up could have been communicated in the ad just to be fair.

The urine in the alleyway leading to the apartment should have been our first red flag. Communication with the multiple owners who we never met was ineffective. We think some of them may have been communicating to us from the Netherlands. Every communication was via text. You might want to beware of the promise of free parking since that's not 100% accurate. The instructions for parking advise that a person checks in at "the office" to register one's car. What office? There was no one to check in with. When we asked that they refund us for the parking ticket, you can guess the answer: "Nah." They didn't take any responsibility for the nebulous directions. The only office we knew of was the one listed at the Castle Parking lot in charge of parking for the City of York. That office closes at 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday incidentally. It's a good bet that the parking directions have changed since our stay and that room fans have been purchased for summer. That's great news for those who stay there in the future, but it wasn't so great for us at the time. All in all, my advice is to simply pass on this one and err on the side of human contact rather than mysterious multiple staff members from who knows where, unwilling to call on the phone to discuss issues. We've been renting apartments thru Booking.com for years now. We've never once had an issue with an owner until this Byzantine labyrinth of owners at this apartment. The good news is that getting to York is beyond well worth it, in spite of whatever set backs you may happen upon.

The apartments location is amazing and the facilities are great.Perxect for a girls, weekend. The staff got us in early so we could enjoy the Friday as well.
