Monteurunterkunft

A well equipped, clean room. With a little kitchenette containing a cooker, fridge, dishwasher, coffee machine and kettle. .The room is on the first floor, with the toilet on the landing. The shower is in the basement, which is clean and towels are provided. There's an Aldi one street away for provisions and about 20 mins walk from the town centre.

These are minor points because the room is really good value for money. The room didn't have a mirror, which would have been useful as I was attending a wedding. There is one in the bathroom, but not full length. The house doesn't have a door number and as I arrived at night it was difficult to find, the house is opposite a side street.

Es war alles okay. Ein schönes Gästezimmer mit Balkon und kleiner Küchenzeile. Das Bett war bequem. WC war auf außerhalb und die Dusche im Keller. Aber das war okay. Eine ruhige Gegend und die Gastgeberin sehr höflich und nett.

An der Unterkunft gab es nichts auszusetzen.

The location was convenient for me as it was close to the retirement home I needed to visit.

I had booked two weeks in this accommodation for end of May to middle of June plus another two weeks beginning to middle of July. I needed to make a change of the second time period. it was mentioned on the website that one change was possible free of charge. I was distraught that the owner did not help me with the change of dates. My mother in the retirement home was dying and I explained that I needed the room in a week that was still available at the time I asked. She agreed to the change. I had paid booking.com already the full amount for a fortnight end of June to the middle of July. I agreed to change to a period of 6 days and didn't ask for a refund of the remaining nights. I needed the room for a week to be close to my mother who was in a critical condition. The change of the dates could not be done by me, but needed to be done by the owner, possibly with the support of booking.com. She insisted that I had to change it myself online. I emailed booking.com repeatedly and got the reply each time that the owner needed to agree to and initiate the change. She refused to contact booking.com. I was speechless and disgusted when she then declared that she had accepted the booking of another person for the week I had asked her for and that she had already promised to me. I have all of these emails between her and me and booking.com. In the end I had to rent another accommodation and lost the money of the 2 weeks at the Monteurunterkunft. I also didn't like that I had to ask the owner for everything. I had to ring her door bell to get the information about the WIFI code, another time to find out where I could find the towel. it was not in the room but in the shower in the cellar and not supposed to be taken to the room when wet. Best to bring your own towel for the room. Overall, the owner seemed unfriendly and suspicious of me, she obviously had made some bad experiences with guests. I have never been treated so badly as a guest.
