Too far from the town centre. We didn’t have a car and the walk in was strangely quiet in the evening.

The apartment is well supplied with good quality appliances, a good shower and handy location, so great for a short stay. Any queries were responded to straight away and messages helpful and friendly.

Finding the key safe is a bit tricky but the instructions are clear once read!

The apartment is spacious with nice big windows. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal and it felt freshly cleaned. The beds are comfortable and the shower is good. The location is fine - you can walk to town in 15 mins, there's a bus stop outside, and free parking.

We arrived late at night exhausted after driving 9 hours in torrential rain and couldn't open the key box. I called the host and he was quite patronising asking if I found the right door etc. He said he'd check with the housekeeper and call me back. When he called back he told me the key code was "still XXXX" - a different number to the one he'd emailed to me. When we eventually got inside, we found the apartment to smell very strongly of stale cigarette smoke. It felt like going into the house of someone who smokes 20 a day. We did let the host know and they offered to bring some air freshener but the smell is ingrained and air freshener would just sit on top of it and smell like smoky citrus. I get that it's really difficult to get cigarette smell out once it's ingrained but I would recommend a full upholstery and carpet clean as well as washing the walls and ceiling. The blind in one of the bedrooms was broken and there was no curtain so we were woken very early by the sun. The apartment has the potential to be amazing with a few small tweaks but the issue with the key box code, and the broken blind are avoidable, had a big negative impact and felt unprofessional.
