Swallow Cottage at Duffryn Mawr Cottages

We didn't make are stay paid a deposit,ive message for deposit back with nothing it was 50 pound ive ask for them to return with no luck at all

Lovely remote cottage but not far to motorway and nearby towns/city. Fantastic shower and the bath was a bonus. Footpaths at end of drive helped avoid narrow lane for dog walks

Perhaps the living area could have been reconfigured to allow space for a sofa rather than two chairs?

The property was great, ideal spot for getting to, 5 mins from M4 and you would think you were 100’s of miles away from anything. Perfect tranquil location.

The property had character and we felt very welcomed by Rosie. The horses were to lovely to wake up to every morning. Ideal location, small commute to the city centre. good size, amazing bath.

A fair few cobwebs and spiders. No oven trays. Bed was slightly uncomfortable but not the worst!

Communication could've been a little better as we had no idea where to pick keys up from or drop them off.

Swallow Cottage is in a beautiful setting overlooking the Countryside , ideal if travelling to Barry or Porthcawl. The location is very peaceful and tranquil. Swallow cottage was cosy and comfortable with everything we needed. Soft comfortable bed, fantastic kitchen with everything we needed to prepare a meal and lovely modern bathroom with powerful shower. We had a really comfortable stay.

The only thing I could ‘wish’ would be more room in the living area for a nice sofa. The two chairs are perfectly adequate and comfortable but after a busy day, a comfy sofa would have been perfect. However there clearly isn’t the room so can fully understand why there isn’t a sofa in there.

I stay in lots of different accommodation all over the UK and this place is absolutely wonderful...at first I was a little apprehensive as some of the reviews were less than flattering but knowing full well what some people are like (living in bubble wrap etc) I plodded on. So glad I did, the location is so serene and quiet. Morning coffee looking out the kitchen window at the sunrise over fields of brand new calf's strolling with mother's. Took my MTB for several great rides around the place, cosy little pubs and meandering country lanes. Just on those lanes, I noted someone had mentioned the busy, very narrow lane outside and surrounding the property.....these are standard country lanes seen all over the UK, please don't book accommodation in countryside and expect roads large enough for two unnecessary SUV's to pass. As for busy, I don't think I've been anywhere quieter in the evenings to date....in 2 days, 5 cars passed...baffled by some people's comments. On the place itself, it's so cosy (I was in swallow), lovely bathroom with gorgeous fast hot water and simple kitchen diner area that heats up quick and has everything you need. All in all had such a relaxing time here in the evenings/morning that was so needed with busy work days mixed in. No hassle to check in whatsoever and just strolled straight in after a long drive. I totally recommend this place if you need a steam release...but not if you have warped views on what the Welsh countryside looks like.

Superb location just off the M4 and the cottage had everything we needed for a few days away biking. Peaceful area, comfortable bed and great value for money.
