Hexham Town Centre, Market Place View

Location excellent, right in town Good size apartment

Parking - Two dedicated spaces (both parking behind yellow lines and both found to be in use on many occasions by other cars)! Many stairs with sprung fire doors made taking luggage up difficult. Low ceilings - sore head Bedroom door difficult to close and bright automatic light right outside door which lights up bedroom when partner pops out in the night! Many light bulbs (in bathroom and in bedroom) not working, or very dim. Bath is loose and moves, should be siliconed down to floor. No freezer compartment in fridge, would be useful so we can store food (especially when staying fir a week) and freeze cool blocks for days out.

Great Central location to the town centre. Unit was comfortable , but a little quirky as typical of its age, being a listed property.

Parking wasn't dedicated, so uncertain availability. We weren't able to park in the designated spot as someone else parked there earlier and didn't leave overnight. The unit needs to be aired a bit more to remove the musty air.

The flat had everything we needed and everything in the kitchen and bathroom, plus the TV, worked well. The accommodation was just the right size for us. The bed was comfortable. The parking space beside the building was available, and very convenient.

The entrance and stairs are pretty drab. Parts of the flat look a little tired, and most of the floors are on the tilt, so it feels as though you are on a boat when walking around the flat. To other guests, this could be the charm of an older property though, I suppose. The hall light is on a motion sensor, so opening the bedroom door in the night is an enlightening experience for both guests!

The accommodation had a lovely vibe as soon as you walked through the door. The bed was one of the comfiest I’ve ever slept in! We were walking Hadrian’s Trail, so it was a treat to have a bath available too. Lovely big sitting area …. we chose to stay in as all our other nights in different accommodation along the trail were B&Bs,so it was a novelty to be able to self cater! Great kitchen with all the basics. Very central to Hexham too, so very handy for shops and restaurants. Hexham is a lively, bustling town.

Nothing really. The only thing I would say is if you have mobility issues, the stairs up to the flat are quite steep, and you need to keep in mind that there is a flight of stairs to the left as you exit the bathroom. Maybe another door might be a good idea? But there is a light sensor on the landing area, so there’s no chance of not ‘seeing’ the stairs at night time. The WI-FI code needs to be written somewhere in the property down and made more clear as there are several options and it was a little confusing!
