Brilliant central property

Lack of parking for our van

A beautiful, immaculately clean and comfortable apartment in central Hexham, a great location for a visit with many restaurants, cafes and bars nearby. Susan is a superb host, really helpful. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

There was no parking near the flat. There are a lot of steep, very narrow, and uneven steps to the 2nd floor accommodation. We found it difficult to lock the door from the inside of the flat.

Being in the centre also has its downside which is some traffic noise, but it wasn’t too bad

Great location for us as we were attending a wedding at the Abbey.

I’m just over 6ft and I bumped my head a few times on the low door frames etc. However, I’m already daft as a brush so it’s fine!

Het lag heerlijk centraal in Hexham, dat is heel fijn als je het oude stadje Hexham wilt bezoeken. En er valt veel te zien. Het appartement was twee hoog en via smalle trapjes te bereiken, geen probleem als je goed mobiel bent. Ook is niet alles even recht, maar dat was juist de charme van het geheel. Dat konden we zeker waarderen. De faciliteiten waren goed. Het had een heerlijke douche en een mooi bad, altijd een pluspunt als je met de fiets rondtrekt. Ook de aanwezigheid van de wasmachine is heerlijk om je fietskleren te wassen.

Helaas was het bed zeer oncomfortabel. Ik kon de veren voelen, waardoor ik twee keer een slechte nachtrust had en niet fit was voor de volgende fietstocht. Gelukkig was de hoekbank groot genoeg, maar goed slapen doe je niet meer. Dit heb ik de gastvrouw laten weten, die snel contact opnam en haar excuses aanbood. Altijd fijn te horen. Uiteraard is dit een persoonlijke ervaring en kan een andere gast dit anders ervaren. Ook was het jammer dat het licht vrij fel was in het hele appartement. Op zich niet zo erg, maar het licht in de halletje schijnt recht de slaapkamer in als je de deur opendoet.... ook niet bevorderlijk als je al zo slecht slaapt.

Was centrally located. Flat was nice once you got up to it.

Stairwells leading up to flat were quite small. Washer was not in the flat but in a small maintenance room on the floor below and was only accessible after business hours.
