Hexham Town Centre, Market Place View

Beautiful stylish apartment right in the centre of Hexham. The contact person was incredibly helpful and kind when I was unnecessarily worried about whether I was allowed to park over the front of the building – which turns out to be absolutely fine

It was good on the eye at first glance and once in the apartment it’s looking nice.

The property is made to look cosy and most of it is but the bed was so uncomfortable and the mattress cover was badly stained as I noticed on the day of leaving after stripping the bed ready for them to clean. The entrance is a climb up narrow winding stairs and parking is not good. Bit disappointing as could be better especially the dirty bedding.windows are notes really safe as don’t close, the bath leaks when its emptying but a lovely bathroom otherwise

Loved the comfort and location. Highly recommended apartment. Unfortunately no good for people with mobility issues. Careful on the stairs with baggage! As with other reviews I got to know Hexam quite well in efforts to find the property in the car. I was lucky and managed to park outside the front door, others may find it a frustrating challenge.

The apartment is very well-appointed with lots of little extras that demonstrate attention to detail by the host. It's an old building but it has been very well modernised. It is spacious and very comfortable, and we'd happily have stayed longer. It's also in a great central location in the town.

The understated and somewhat unwelcoming entrance belies what you find when you get into the apartment. Getting to the upper floor with various items of luggage was a challenge, navigating sprung doors, cold vinyl floors and steep stairs, making the apartment virtually inaccessible for anyone with any mobility issues.

The host was fabulous, a great communicator from the get go and stayed in contact throughout the 2 week stay. We LOVED the location!!!! Hexham is perfectly situated to explore Hadrian’s Wall and nearby market towns. We did not have a car and went everywhere by bus or train. We made our meals at home but enjoyed coffee at the local independent cafés, especially the Green Garden. We popped in the Abbey several times, there are many details you could overlook otherwise.

We prefer a firm bed, but that being said we slept very, very well!!

Quirky flat right in the centre of town. Good sized living and bedroom (though watch your head if you're tall!), well-equipped kitchen, very comfortable bed, shower and bath available, helpful host, everything clean and sparkling.

There was an issue with the heating control when I arrived, but the host sorted it within a couple of hours. One or two minor bits of maintenance needed e.g. lightbulbs and loose fittings - minor points though.

Lovely cozy apartment had everything you need would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again

I have to say that the apartment was very clean, very comfortable as in furniture wise and very smart. The issues began as we arrived at Hexham. It stated in a previous email that said we'd receive a pin code to get access to the apartment but never received one. We arrived at the allocated check-in time but had great difficulty actually finding the apartment. We rang the owners number, which was on Booking.com email and which it told us to ring, but got no reply. I left a message hoping someone would call me back immediately with directions and the pin code. I got no reply. I called 4 times, and each time, I got the answer machine. By this time, we were very frustrated and getting more and more angry. I eventually managed to contact the owner via Booking.com site and explained everything. She apologised and was amazed that we hadn't received any pin code via an email from Booking.com. She directed me to the apartment and the lock box and gave us the pin code. I told her I'd rang 4 times and left messages but got no reply from her. She said that she was at work and wasn't allowed to use her phone whilst at work. I told her that her number was the only number we had, and it was listed as the contact number on Booking.com if we needed anything. I told her i found it very strange that you'd list a contact number and can't use it if you're at work. What happens if there's an emergency and you need help? The entrance to the apartment is difficult to find, but with help from the owner, we did get there eventually, after half an hour of walking around and phoning the owner. We did park outside the apartment, but it was very, very tight and on double yellow lines, but the owner assured me that it was fine as there was a parking spot allocated to the apartment. We knew the apartment had stairs but were unprepared for the next step. There are 4 flights of stairs and 3 fire doors to get through to get to the apartment.
