The property location was excellent with easy parking and access to public transportation. The property owner was very good about helping us with places to visit and with any requests we had.

Very nice host and family, good place to explore Belem and Ajuda. We enjoyed exploring typical parts of Lissabon and personal contact with our host and sitting in the garden for a coffee-break.

Belem is a good location, lots to do, but away from the hustle and bustle of Lisbon city. Very tranquil, nice to eat in the garden. Walking distance to the Royal Ajuda Palace, which was well worth a visit. We also visited the Botanic garden, where we saw an equestrian display. We were close to useful bus routes, which gave easy cheap access to Belem centre and Lisbon. Only used the hire car for getting to and from the airport. Buses and trains were very convenient. The host was at hand to welcome us. He was most attentive and dealt with any difficulties promptly, without being intrusive. There was a good cafe just up the street, where we had a light breakfast one day. Nice to meet local people, who were very friendly, keen to try out their English. It also had a range of basic provisions including bread, butter, beer, cakes. Auchan supermarket down towards Belem was good.

It would have been a bonus to have restaurants close to. Local restaurants weren't open in the evening, but did good lunches so not really a problem as we ate out at lunchtime and had a light snack with some wine in the garden in the evening. That apart, no real downsides.
