FLH Santa Marta Portuguese Flat

We liked the location as well as the visual aspect of the design of the apartment.

It smelled awful in the apartment, it was extremely moist, there were a few cockroaches and there was no ventilation or proper drainage in the bathrooms.

Spacious and well designed!

Some things need fixing — like the faucet in hall bathroom. No AC in back bedroom. A supply of cooking standard condiments would be nice.

The wrong floor information and wrong key

The layout of the flat was OK. Hard to like anything with the stench of sewage, cockroaches and mouse traps.

The stench of drains that hit you when you walked in. The mouse traps around the flat. The cockroaches in the kitchen. The fact that the main bathroom shower didn't appear to work and we were told on the last day that the middle/diverter handle also functioned as the water on/off. The chairs that were broken (nearly fell on the floor). The two blue armchairs in the sitting room as swivel chairs (obsession with this type as they were also around the dining table) are dangerous because if you're not expecting the chair to move it's quite dangerous. The extractor fans in both bathrooms aren't wired up so they steam up. The mountains of stinking rubbish outside the flat entrance and wheelie bins overflowing with all the neighbourhood's rubbish. Various "splashes" of goodness knows what on some walls/bathroom door frames. The pillows on the bed were filled with what look like cotton wool balls - cheapest of the cheap. Oh and the basin tap was broken in the second bathroom "Feels like home" own it. They sent someone round at 7pm on our last night who bleached the showers so the place stank of bleach.
