FLH Santa Marta Portuguese Flat

Great location - easy and a pleasant walk to the attractions (the Cathedral is a 30 minute stroll). The flat is well equipped and looks smart. It feels very secure and safe.

We had the oven and a/c on at the same time and tripped the power. The owner was very helpful (they gave us a WhatsApp link when we arrived and they responded immediately) and had the power back on within the hour.

The location, the spaciousness and the fit out. 2 bathrooms.

Our checking experience was quite stressful. More information and directions ahead of check in would be very helpful. The support person was available which was fantastic however they appeared frustrated with us. We arrived after a 30 hour commute, at night. It would be most helpful to have seen photos and instructions for exact location of safety box and descriptions of keys - ie how to extend the key so it works. Also where the lights were in the building stairwell as we were juggling phone torches and trying to show support person the key, to work out how to extend it.

Smelled moldy and toilets smelled like septic. Hallway was very steep with no lights. Would have been nice to receive Video on how to use key before we arrived or at least when we checked in.

Great location, lovely apartment. Be aware that in the second floor it is a little noisy in the mornings, there is building work nearby, and a busy road. But the location is fantastic for accessing most places, and in fairness when staying in a city you don’t expect it to be quiet. Lots of local lovely eateries to match different budgets, all the locals are helpful and friendly. The apartment is airy and spacious and just what we wanted, well equipped.

You made a very simple procedure very difficult. The booking instructions tell us to make our way to the head office to pick up the keys. Then we get a message less than 24 hours before travelling to say someone will greet us at the apartment and to let you know 45 minutes before arrival. We go to the apartment and nobody is there, and wait , when no one arrives we phone two numbers nobody answers, and then only by chance I check my emails to find a door key code has been sent. Never at any point were we told to keep checking emails. We eventually access the main door, but you forget to tell us that the door to the apartment has a retractable key. Overall it took us over an hour from arriving to get in to the apartment, something that could have taken less than 5 minutes with clear instructions, we are experienced travellers, we understand about door key codes. There was a rep from another company there and even he was struggling. Just simplify the process, it’s not difficult!!

The location is excellent. Good access by metro from the airport. Close to the center and all attractions. The apartment is located in an older storey building, but recently renovated, spacious, clean and very nicely furnished. The kitchen is functional and spacious. It has two bathrooms and a laundry room. Cozy accommodation for 4 people. Perhaps the only thing that bothered us was that the apartment was quite humid...

Entering the apartment was very complicated. We practically felt like we were in a puzzle or "escape room", only we were struggling to get in... :-)) We only had one phone call available from the owner to get the code from the key safe, which we could hardly find. When we finally got the key and entered the lobby of the building, we could hardly find our apartment because it was poorly marked. In the meantime, we called the owner a few times for advice and we were unable to get him. And finally, the story with the key, with which we really struggled to unlock the apartment door. We were able to do this when we realized that the key is extendable. After nearly 30 minutes of straining, we finally entered......

Nice size apartment with 2 separate full bathrooms. Kitchen was equipped with everything needed (except spices). Good location and nice area of town. Host and maintenance were quick to respond to questions.

Needs better pillows. Also, it was not clear how to get the radiator to work in one of the bedrooms and no instructions were provided. You can hear people outside as they walked by talking.
