Very quiet location, had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Lovely lodge, nice view over field.

WiFi doesn't work, followed instructions called company as not the policy holder they can't help. Contacted owner no reply. So this would be an issue for families with lots of gadgets. Didn't like giving a breakages deposit, so for all future people going, there is damage to main bathroom door, water damage underneath both bathroom sinks, and broken speaker/ buttons in hot tub. I took pictures reported it to them on our 1st day and did get my deposit back. Cleanliness was an issue on arrival clearly a child had stayed as ketchup on glass doors, kitchen cupboards and dead insects on windowsill over 20 so not new in living room, but that was it, I cleaned it all up as not nice to find. Rest of lodge was cleaned ok.

People who used the hot tub became sick the next day, we stayed here for a month and paid over £2000 in rent and we had our £200 security deposit seized on the last week without the option to contest this decision or debate proof of the accusation because of unidentified tyre marks on grass that to my knowledge we were not responsible for, entire grass area was like a bog on a flood plain

Brilliant location. Hot tub. General facilities. Cleanliness.

TVs didn't work properly. No channels in lounge, BBC 1 only in the main bedroom and a couple of other channels in the other bedroom. I complained immediately. A promised visit during Saturday didn't happen. Arriving after dark to a pitch black very slippery decking around the back. Had to use phones to find the key. Decking should not be slippery, full stop. It's simply bad maintenance. Loads of lightbulbs not working. At least ten. Again, very obvious maintenance. A wardrobe handle came off in my hand. The twin bedroom door hinge was very loose. The lounge electric fire didn't work. Shower room fan broken. No oven gloves. We left a night early because of the TV situation. I initially had to ring up to pay the £200 deposit because their website didn't work (it said the postcode was wrong even though it doesn't ask for one) and was told to ring back for its return. When I rang to do this a young man was sarcastic when I told him his website didn't work when trying to pay it online. He promised a return callback to return the deposit. No callback. Tried for two days to get someone on the phone. Will have to use the credit card chargeback in order to get it.

Close to Castle Howard, large lodge with all the amenities very clean great stay :-)
