"Lovely kitchen space, enjoyed having meals in. Hot pot for tea water was there as well as coffee machine."

The cave interior was authentic. Also, there was a lot of square footage, room in back with table so one could eat in two different places.

The heating was a bit of a problem but it was mid-January. There are no closets.

"Sehr stilvolles Wohnen in einer schön renovierten Höhlenwohnung"

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in dieser „Casa tipica nei Sassi“. In der liebevoll sanierten Höhlenwohnung zu übernachten, war etwas ganz Besonderes. Über die Treppen in diesem historischen Viertel gelangt man schnell überall hin. Der extrem nette und engagierte Vermieter Giovanni war ein zusätzliches Highlight: Sehr hilfsbereit und stets gut erreichbar, zur Begrüßung klasse Tipps für Matera und etwas zur Geschichte seines Hauses und der Sassi allgemein - klasse!

Uns hat alles sehr gefallen! Wir haben keinerlei körperliche Einschränkungen, daher auch kein Problem mit den Treppen, die es im gesamten alten Teil Materas und um die Casa herum gibt.

The cave house was fantastic. Clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The host was great also. He met us in the evening in the main square and showed us to the accommodation. He then explained the origins of the house and discussed some key points of interest to see in Matera. He also helped with parking. The location was very good. Right in the centre of the old town.

This is not a negative for the accommodation, but people should be aware that there are steep, narrow stairs from the main square down the accommodation. The whole old town is steep/hilly. You cannot park in the old town. There is free parking just outside the LTZ area, but very difficult to find. Paid parking by meter was our only option. Cost was €10/24H. The host was very helpful with explaining the available parking outside of the LTZ area.

"Prachtige Sassi-woning!"

Prachtig ingerichte grotwoning in het oude deel van Matera. Eigenaar kon veel vertellen over de geschiedenis en de bezienswaardigheden. Bijzondere plek!!

Lastig om de bagage bij de woning te krijgen, eind lopen, smalle trapjes
