"This a perfect spot if you want a cosy base to experience the Mournes and surrounding area!"

10.0

The B&B itself is very cosy and feels very much like a little cottage. Small and intimate but certainly doesn't feel cramped in any way. The view from the living room looks out over the driveway and out to the green fields beyond. The kitchen is well equipped, the bedroom is roomy + very comfortable and the walk in shower / bathroom is also spacious and a pleasure to use. Our stay was around Halloween and even in the midst of some torrential rain and wind we had no bother staying warm and cosy between using the heaters and the small wood burner in the living room. The electricity meter takes pound coins but we found this economical enough (just make sure to bring a few extra pound coins with you just in case). The location is amazing. Paths into both the Mourne Mountains (near Hares Gap) and Tollymore Forest Park are literally at the end of the driveway so it's perfect for both short walks or setting off on a longer hike. There's a lot of other local spots that would be quickly accessible if you bring a car. We were actually on foot but had no bother getting to the property from Newcastle via Shimna Taxis (about £12 each way - just be sure to book ahead). If you're not driving I would be sure to bring all your food & essentials with you as it is a few miles to the nearest shops 🙂

Ideal setting on the foot of the Mournes, off the beaten track. Perfect to switch off for a few days. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped with everything you need for your stay. Luka and Emma were very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back.

"A place nestled in a most picturesque part of the Mournes just waiting to be discovered."

10.0

Quiet, peaceful location with great access on your doorstep to both the Mourne mountains and Tollymore Forest. The accommodation was perfect for us as a couple and our two dogs, who had a fab time on walks and were totally exhausted after each day as were we.

What is to fault, it had all that we wanted or required, it was far enough situated to give us the time and peace to ourselves and was only a few minutes to the local town of Newcastle by car. Nothing to fault.

Lovely homemade flapjacks were very welcomed on arrival. Very peaceful setting with beautiful views. Beautiful walks and natural setting.

Would be handy to have some sort of fly screen.(Not a criticism)

Location was fantastic right at the bottom of the trassey track making hiking easy.

Would have benefited from a deep clean, oven was a small countertop making cooking challenging. The attached room beside the bedroom had a light on all night until about 3am leaking light into the bedroom.
