Herriot's Nook

Lovely place for a few nights stay.

A lovely, small and cosy, well equipped cottage in a fabulous, really quiet and peaceful location. Comfortable beds, really comfortable, squishy pillows, and we arrived to a generous welcome basket. My husband left his keys behind and the hosts offered to post them back to us as their own expense, which we very much appreciate.

There is a street lamp right outside the bedroom window, which obviously shines into the room during the night so if that kind of thing bothers you an eye mask might be a good idea. The peace and quiet makes up for this though, we have stayed in Thirsk a few times but never anywhere so quiet.

Very handy location. Easy access to shops pubs . Easy to get to York, Hensley etc.

Stairs very steep,but it is an old cottage so you expect this,have stopped in Thirsk at similar properties.

The location was only a short distance fromThirsk itself and within reach of a number of excellent walks. The town has a lovely Italian restaurant too!

We had a slight problem with the toilet but contacted the owners and the problem was rectified within a couple of hours.

Location, character and quality. Will definitely be back to visit. Such a lovely cottage.

The cottage was clean and comfortable. Two minutes walk away from the marketplace it is in the perfect location. The beds were extremely comfortable, as was the sofa where we enjoyed relaxing. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise. We enjoyed ourselves so much we didn't want to leave!

Nothing to.dislike at all. Perfect location, perfect comfort.

Location - and even better when we could park outside. Stairs a bit steep but good exercise!!
