Old Market Apartments

The heating did not turn on, the whole room was freezing cold. The fire alarm also turn on and someone who lives permanently in the building had to turn it off.

Had to phone for key case code on arrival. Very poor, was promised code 2 hours before arrival

Telly didn't work, water leak in bathroom, no microwave, no instructions as to how to use radiators, rubbish collection or storage. Dirty and smelly hallway leading to apartments.

Location excellent. We could walk to everywhere we needed to.

I found the listing confusing. In fact I booked the studio apartment by mistake thinking it was the 1 bedroom apartment. We managed but this is not suitable for 2 colleagues.

The location.

Numerous stains on the walls, handprints, incredibly dusty upper shelf, obvious splatter on the external overdoor. Some dishes were greasy or badly washed. Overall disappointing due to the uncleanliness, which made the flat uncomfortable. It seems like only quick cleaning is done on a regular basis, while the flat needs more deep cleaning. Otherwise you start to wonder if the regular cleaning is done properly. Also, the bed should have a mattress cover and an additional sheet.

Location and service was good. Hopewell were very clear and forthcoming with information and help when we needed it. Very quiet, considering the location and hallway was clean.

Much smaller than expected, bed barely fit us (smaller than a double) and is uncomfortable, both mattress and pillows. Not intelligent use of space to place personal things, needs more shelving, shorter bed head so window shelves can be used easily, less unnecessary items like plastic plants and drying rack taking up precious space. When I dropped money on the floor I looked under the bed to see if any had rolled under and it's filthy. Previous people's items, very dusty, bits of debris, and probably a coin from me. Shower is extremely small, 6ft 4in partner didn't fit and I (5ft 4in) kept hitting my head on the soap dish, potentially dangerous. Remote missing a battery so TV was unusable. We left a day early and stayed somewhere else.
