The location was perfect, a little noisy because of the market across the street but it didn't bother us. The apartment is small but enough for two people that are not seeking luxury. Highly recommended.

Host (Sofia) messaged me ahead of time and answered my questions. Then met me when I arrived, and explained everything and offered to change towels during my stay if needed etc. She made recommendations and also organised my return transport. She was a helpful and friendly host and I couldn't fault her. The location of the apartment was central, just opposite the farmers market and close to a supermarket and other shops, tour pick ups etc. so was easy to get everywhere. There is no street noise and it had all the facilities I needed, hot water on demand, cutlery etc.

The apartment is very small - while it contains everything you may need, it is more the size of a hotel room, rather than other apartments I have been in which had been several rooms. There is a window, but it only opens to a kind of gap between the buildings and you get the sound (and smell sometimes) of another AC system, so generally I had to keep the window closed. The building was generally quiet, but there was a couple of nights with people talking/shouting very loudly within the building at 2am, which would wake up most people. Also, the front/main door would slam each time someone enters or leaves the building which you could hear from the first or second floors. Small issue, but the shower curtain could be shortened a little as you end up standing on it, but this is just a minor thing to improve.

Perfect localization for our purposes: srrict commercial city centre, close to Praca Pova which is central communication hub of Funchal and busses to all directions may be easily catched. Close to the shopping centre where one can easily buy all products necessary for the stay Stony beach in a walkind distance (400m) Good (remote) contact wth Sofia (the host) responding each of my request on WhatsApp Clear information on how to get to the facility, check in and out Quite quiet place despite of the situation in the coty centre (no street noise in the room) comfortable bed well equipped kitchen, sufficiently equipped bathroom with warm water wifi working perfectly

The room was quite cramped (but the limited space was perfectly utilized) there is only one small round table in the room (but for a time-limited stay we could easily adjust) thw window opened on a narrow space with a tube emitting noise and specific smell of a restaurant was detectable while the window was opened.

The flat has all the basics we needed Brilliant location, just on front of Mercado do Lavoradores. The person who welcomed us was extremely helpful; she advised us a place for dinner (which we loved!) and also kindly booked another dinner as I was having trouble with online booking. There is a parking just around the corner where you pay 5€/24h

The is no lift, therefore you need to carry your suitcases while taking several stairs (ok if you want to warm yourself up before going hiking!) If you open the bathroom's/bedroom's window, you feel the cooking smell coming from the restaurant's exhaust downstairs. Cooking items and cutlery were not very clean and we had to wash them before using it There were no coffee pods available.
