Excellent location, Situated next to the mainFish and meat market. Walkable to sea front, cable car and Historic Centre.

Directly adjacent to a small local bar. A little noisy in the evening and early morning but nothing particularly bad.

A very clean apartment in a perfect location, in the very city center. Beach, promenade, historic city center, farmers' market, Teleferico, restaurants, cafes and shops (including Pingo Doce) all very close. Other touristic attractions within easy reach. A well equipped kitchen and a washing machine are very useful, with all necessary household chemicals available. A dishwasher would add to the comfort. Hot water from an electric boiler was always available and water pressure was good. The bathroom was very clean and the bath tub had been recently repainted/renovated. The balcony is a huge advantage, with comfortable furniture and great views. Above all, Sofia is a perfect host, very responsive, flexible, ready to provide assistance.

Steep and uncomfortable steps in a narrow stair case, but we knew it beforehand. Constant noise and food smells from restaurant roof exhaust outlets behind the bedroom window. We had to keep the bedroom window closed the whole stay and it was necessary to use noise reducing earplugs to sleep comfortably in the bedroom. But the balcony window in the living room provided enough fresh air. The towels were high quality and cleanly washed, but their smell was unpleasant probably due to the humidity in Madeira. We had to wash them on our own. Providing freshly washed and dried towels, not previously prepared and stored, would be a better solution.

Sophia was extremely friendly and helpful. She was great at responding to messages. She explained clearly how to get to the apartment from the airport and organised a transfer when I left. This was much appreciated. The apartment was close to the centre and in a good location. The room was basic, it was clean and had everything I needed.

Centrally located studio apartment. Near bus station, old town, cable car station, and many restaurants.

Minor things like no cups for tea. Would have liked a toaster. But my problem with this place is the noise. It's opposite the central market and the noise starts from 0530, with the bar beneath the flat noisy until late. This is subjective and many people may be able to tolerate the noise in exchange for the great location, but I stayed a week and struggled to get any sleep.
