Lovely location, garden and accommodation but cleanliness let it down

More comfortable bed Higher standard of cleanliness Crockery shortage No dish washer No laundry facilities Sound proofing between apartment and owners property was very poor you could hear the owners talking and the dog walking around upstairs. Owners got up circa 6.00 to 6.30am and disturbed our sleep with banging sounds like furniture was being moved around.

It was a home from home.

It had everything that you needed

Homely , spacious . Everything we needed. Milk coffee etc left for us. Toiletries provided. Comfy furniture . Lovely secluded sunny outside space . Friendly helpful hosts .

Bed a bit soft but we have bad backs so not fault of property.

The garden is really beautiful. The interior is light, airy and comfortable.

Nothing to dislike

The apartment is part of the owners main residence and has their front garden on one side and the separate patio garden for the apartment. Plenty of glorious light! The apartment is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The property is really well situated between Carbis Bay and the bays of St Ives itself - all within walking distance. Everything is well looked after and cared for.

Nothing, it was perfect for us. Jimmy and Dee are great hosts.

Separated area of a house. Split by an internal door which would rattle whenever external doors were opened. Can hear every word and conversation. Early risers usually around 6.30am and they enjoy slamming the front door (which was against the headboard of the bedroom). Annoying AF when your pregnant and on holiday not that it matters with the mattress (see below) Quite a shabby space. Everything needs freshening up. Needs a professional clean...cobwebs and mold patches everywhere. Shower tray full of previous guests hair and sink had toothpaste from previous guests. Bed has the most uncomfy mattress with springs poking through. Fridge had open contents from previous guests inside. In the event of a fire the only escape route would be through the one door which is in the kitchen where a likely fire would occur. Not the hosts fault but building work with excavators started next door from 8am and finished 5ish. They were burning things in the evening so all the windows closed. The problem was no courtesy message given prior to arrival to inform us of this.

Carbis Bay is beautiful and the property location ideal.

We arrived to what we thought was an apartment but it was attached to the owners house. We spent over 30 minutes cleaning the property as it smelt of dogs and was extremely dirty and dusty! Messaged the owner who agreed to meet us and discuss but left us waiting 50 minutes by which time I had seen enough dirt and mould and we decided we were too uncomfortable to actually stay and drove home! The oven and fridge were dirty and mould on the back of the bathroom door which was a health hazard and quite frankly unforgivable. This place needs a severe deep clean! Stinking blankets left out that smelt like dogs that also needed a wash! Awful!
