"We are thankful for a very comfortable and nice stay :)"

9.0

Beds, furniture and equipment seemed pretty new and were very comfortable. One of the rooms faces the street, two others the courtyard with the river behind - we had closed windows (early spring) so it was quiet and we slept really well. Early morning walk right behind the house along the river: a dipper, a wagtail and many more common birds. A good starting point for day trips into Cairngorms (by car) - we had a great time starting at Linn of Dee and on the other side - in Glenmore Nature Reserve.

There was a slight paint smell, but after a thorough ventilation it was gone and it was fine. The bridges and some other fragments of streets in Ballater lack sidewalks which makes it a bit less family- or walking-friendly, but the traffic is very limited (in March) so it was fine.

Location was so convenient, parking easy and free and the area stunningly beautiful.

Returning to the property at night a light by the common door would be useful

The view from the kitchen

We did not like being told at the time of booking in August there were 2 bathrooms when there was only one available to use! Our stay was 24th - 26th October so plenty time to inform us. I complained by message + was told we were given a good rate because of this but I am disappointed that we were not told that at the time of booking as 2 bathrooms was part of our criteria. I requested a 25% refund but was told a bottle of wine + a packet of biscuits was left in the fridge as so called compensation!

Great location, clean and had stunning views. The host was very communicative and even left some goodies in the fridge for us. It was walking distance to everything you would need in town. I would definitely recommend this place for a trip to ballater.

"There was a musty smell in flat that never went away despite opening windows. All our clothes smelt of it when I got hom"

Close to town . Had a d/w and nice bathroom and kitchen . Dining table too heavy to move for just me .

The fact I had disabled husband and it was on third floor . Difficultly finding key safe as there were loads on property ( found it eventually on side of building opp charity shop !) no bread knife just a small blunt knife to cut bread .

Well positioned in Ballater. Clean and warm.

Had trouble finding the key box outside was at the back of a drainpipe and not in view. Thank goodness the lady who cleans the apartment came round and help us. She was very helpful!
