Z40 - Budget Apartment

Location was wonderful - we were walking distance to pretty much everything in Budapest. It was clean and looked like the pictures. Water pressure was nice.

There was only one charging port near the bed which only worked when the downstairs light was on for some reason which meant we couldn’t charge our phones overnight. The bed had springs that dug into our backs - a simple mattress topper would fix this. On the last day the wifi went out around midday, I messaged the number given AND the 24 hour number AND booking.com to no response despite it being within their ‘business operating hours’. This was extremely disappointing as we had very little phone service which made for flight check in difficulties and our Netflix account which we had logged into the TV on was unable to be disconnected.

The apartment was close to the city centre, everything was close (therefore the price was really pleasant for the location). We really appreciated the fan which made our stay bearable during the summer's temperatures.

The apartment was extremely small (looks bigger in pictures), however we did not mind it since it was just enough for us as a couple. The building in which the apartment is looks shockingly bad even quite frightening. A small inconvenience was that some walls of the apartment are probably too thin as we could hear our neighbours at times.

The location in the city centre was perfect, and the check-in was well communicated. Furthermore, the size of the room wasn't large but definitely fine and adequate.

Firstly, the table and the bathroom, especially the shower, weren't clean at our arrival, which made it uncomfortable. After six nights, we had to leave a dirty chamber because of missing cleaning equipment. Also, one good sharp knife and a cutting board would be necessary, even if it's not a standard kitchen. The most disappointing thing was the missing toilet paper. Two rolls aren't enough for seven days, and after our request for more, nothing happened. This shouldn't happen.

Great value, very good location, had all necessary amenities. Easy check-in/out which was nice. Also felt very safe.

The place was not very clean, there were marks all over the walls and when we went to use the plates and cutlery they were dirty. Some parts of the apartment were broken, the railing on the side of the stairs kept falling off. However, the sleeping area was nice and clean.

the bed was very comfortable, the layout, although small, was fine for me alone, and would definitely be fine for a couple. the staff member that greated me on arrival, Gabriel, was professional, pleasant and did a great job handling the communication before arrival. big thumbs up for that! the location is also amazing, many points of interest at walking distance, but also metro, bus and train stations are close by if desired! the price was great as well!

it could definitely have been cleaner. had to clean plates and cutlery before use. the fan was extremely dusty. it was also really way too hot. the sign in the room says that during cooling season, rooms are centrally kept to 24°C which is absurdly warm, and it was also warmer than this during the complete duration of the stay. in summer the temperature should not go over 20°C inside. and the shower wall was loose, and not sealed on the bottom, so hopefully that could be fixed.

I had booked for 4 nights and on the second night we ran away to an hotel because it was unlivable. if you want to suffocate go to this apartment. it's a hole with a bed attached to the ceiling and even when it's not too hot it becomes difficult to breathe. if it's cold outside you just need to cross the front door to find yourself in hell, but don't worry there is a fantastic fan next to the bed that will allow you to have constant headaches due to the noise. when the wifi stopped working I contacted the owner who obviously didn't answer me even though he said to call him for any problems. Don’t go there, trust me.

the water from the shower was a bit all over the bathroom as the curtain was not attached to the floor
