De locatie is voortreffelijk, midden in het oude centrum, pal naast de llonja de seda. Juan, de eigenaar, is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam maar praat veel.

Het appartement is hard toe aan renovatie en doet daardoor armoedig aan. Zo zijn bijvoorbeeld kieren in vensters gedicht met duct tape. Meubilair in de badkamer is gedicht met… duct tape. Meubilair is gammel en versleten Ikeaspul. Stoelleuning is kapot, bed kraakt, verwarming (is vaak nodig in de winter) bestaat uit een los elektrisch kacheltje dat onvoldoende is om het hele appartement te verwarmen. Wanneer meerdere elektrische apparaten zijn ingeschakeld (kachel + boiler + waterkoker) kan de stroom door overbelasting van de zekeringautomaat uitvallen. Externe raambekleding/zonwering in slaapkamer klappert als het waait, wat ‘s nachts wel vervelend is. Weinig stopcontacten op makkelijk bereikbare plaatsen.

The location was fine. The apartment was spacious. The owner was helpful and gracious. He made lots of helpful recommendations.

Much of the property is in very poor condition. It is an old property and possibly protected/designated but nevertheless there was much that could easily have been done to improve it. A lick of paint here or there, some simple repairs etc would have improved it no end. The kitchen was poorly equipped, not even any cupboards! There was a reasonable living room that was almost unusable due to a giant double bed. The actual bedroom istself was very small with no main light. The place to store clothes was extremely poor (quite important for travellers). The three massive modern windows somewhat spoiled the 'old flat' atmosphere. We were late booking and had little choice but for what you get it is eye-wateringly expensive. Cleanliness was average to poor, the top of the fridge unit was disgusting.

We loved the host Juan. What a lovely guy! Anything you could need, he was there to offer advice or recommendations. He is so sweet. The location was perfect, so central to where we wanted to be. View from the balcony was enjoyable . Huge windows from bed to view aswell. Original features are lovely.

The bed! Oh my goodness if was so uncomfortable. But that may just be my taste. It was solid, extremely creaky, which kept us awake a lot of our trip!

The property owner receives full credit. Communication was very good, excellent welcome, very pleasant encounter. The location of the property is really good, smak in the El Carmen old town center.

The property itself needs an upgrade. Especially the beds are very uncomfortable. Mattresses and sheets are thin and beds creak with every turn. Pity! The walls and doorframes could use some paint. The air conditioner leaked non stop (there was a bucket placed underneath). The nature of an old building is very charming however there’s a complete lack of any kind of luxury that I would have expected judging by the price paid upfront in full. The hall and stairwell could use a bit more light and a paint touch up as well.
