Edinburgh Central Apartment

The property lists 5 beds in their description, but the apartment is only licenced for 4 occupants. The owners have issues with their neighbours and place a lot of rules on the guests to avoid conflict. This is not the guest's problem. The neighbours have ring doorbells and monitor the coming and goings of guests.

Clean and had good instructions for everything. There were plenty of shops and restaurants/takeaways nearby. 24 bus goes to Princes street or a 15 minute walk to the castle. Good kitchen if want to cook. Communications with the host was clear, helpful and very prompt. The kitchen/diner/sitting room was fine for 2 of us. Would have been a bit cramped for 4 adults .

We were originally going as 2 couples and needed 2 double beds. As it happened we went ourselves although other friends came for 1 night. I may not have read the description carefully enough but I thought there were 2 double beds in separate bedrooms. However, there was only 1 bedroom with a double bed (and bunk beds) and a double bed settee in the kitchen/diner/sitting room. There was a single bed in another bedroom and a 3/4 bed bed up a vertical ladder in another small bedroom. This was unsuitable for us as in our 70s. The information at the property actually states it is only for 4 people. The sleeping accommodation description could maybe be clearer

I didn't realise (because I hadn't looked closely at the photos provided) that one of the beds was a high bunk which wasn't ideal for an over 60 however the soa bed was very comfortable.

Great location easy to walk to everywhere. Lots of beds, good for a group of travellers.

The flat was very dated. The owner didn’t provide toilet paper so we have to buy it. There’s like a thousand rules in flat that you need to follow which didn’t feel welcoming at all. WiFi signal was quite bad. Heating was not warm enough （radiators were constantly turned cold)

The location was excellent. Close enough to walk wherever we wanted to go to in the city. Flat was very warm even without heating on , though we did have to pop the heating on when it got a bit chillier. The heating was easy to use. There were clear instructions on how to use the heating , oven & shower. The beds were very comfy & warm. The shower was excellent , lots of hot water & very spacious.

In the description of the flat is says there are toiletries. Luckily we didn't rely on these as mainly this consisted of several half full shampoo bottles, no conditioner & a very small bottle of shower gel. I just feel if you state there are toiletries then you should provide a decent amount of a known brand rather than what looked like bottles from Aldi or similar that had just been left over from other guests. The step ladder up to the small double bed was fine for a 26 year old to use but feel perhaps you need to point out on the description that the ladder is very steep & may not really be suitable for anyone older & likely to need to get up in the night for the toilet!

Great location, close the centre and all amenities but in a very quiet street.

Nicely appointed and lots of room, well located and close to commercial establishments and points of interest. Great communication with owners.
