Historic Edinburgh 1890s Home Turned Relaxing Retreat

Very quiet apartment with comfortable beds. Efficient layout, nice high ceilings. We slept really well!

Very very tiny bathroom with a nice shower. So tiny, we had to towel outside, in the small hallway. With a family of four it worked, but any other constellation I would find difficult. The apartment was clean, but it felt, as if a deep clean would be good. The sofa had stains. The kitchen felt superficially cleaned with cutlery that was not really clean (which might be because of lack of dishwasher). The fridge was very clean. The area was ok and not too noisy with a few cute cafes, but there are definitely nicer areas in Edinburgh to stay. For us it worked, but I wouldn’t want to stay longer than two nights.

Claire was wonderful. Excellent communication The apartment feel likes you are staying at someone's home, not a sterile hotel. Plenty of games and bedding. We loved the location and the cafe across the street is amazing! We had 4 adults and 2 kids and, while the apartment is not big, everyone had enough space.

This flat was very spacious and could fit 6 guests comfortably. The property had a smart TV which was great. The location is excellent, and the flat is located close to city centre and all attractions, like Edinburgh Castle. The flat is only a short walk away from Haymarket train station.

The windows in the flat had wooden shutters which couldn't be closed completely if the window was kept open. Window blinds would have been a better option and would be easier to use.

Everything was perfect. The apartment was very clean, rooms are spacious and furnished with style, there is everything you need, and kindness of Claire, the host, is just beyond expected ❤️ The place is in the short walking distance to the city center and the castle, there are lots of cafes, pubs and shops nearby as well. Definitely recommended, and many thanks to Claire for our wonderful stay!

The apartment was very comfortable with everything we needed. The location was very convenient with shops/cafes nearby and an easy walk into the city centre. Perfect for our group of 5. Slept well on the sofa bed too! Claire was an attentive host both before and during our stay, great experience.

The shower room was compact, but fine for a short stay. The main entryway in the building gets quite dark in the afternoon before the lights come on, so had to be careful in the hallway and on the stairs. Would also recommend slippers in the apartment as some areas of the wood flooring were very slippy. Couldn't get out to the downstairs patio as someone had run off with the key!
