JOIVY Lovely Flat in the Heart of Edinburgh

Wonderful position, great pub over the road . Steps beside apartment can be noisy at night but it settles down . For anyone that can’t do steps, there is steps to get to the unit. We would recommend apartment

The location

Uncomfortable beds, draught through windows (particularly the twin room), took the three days to reach a bearable temperature. Dust under the twin beds. Shutters not closed properly in twin room, a make shift closer is in place. So cold the first night, managed to find a quilt in the cupboard which didn’t have a cover on it but had a couple of stain marks. Banging windows in the lounge (due to draught), light & extractor fan didn’t work. When opening the dishwasher, it knocked the plinth out. Only the main light worked in the lounge area. Wardrobe door in the double room had a broken hinge, the walls had run marks behind the door and a fist punch mark beside the bed. Bathroom shower screen came off the runner, therefore, the door didn’t close properly. Toilet seat was loose & kept moving. The basin tap is on the wrong way, cold is hot & vice versa. The bathroom door is locked by a hook latch because the door doesn’t close properly. The small light in the alcove was hanging out. Grubby skirting too. The whole place could do with some good maintenance & refurb. I understand it has to be in keeping but the photos that I viewed were definitely edited as the place looked so much more brighter and inviting. Secondary double glazing recommended due to being next to the castle steps, could hear people talking whilst using them, even in the early hours 01:30 & 03:30am & people shouting from the bars and restaurants.

Location

Security was terrible given busy location. Main front door was constantly open. Our apartment's front door should have been locked with both locks. Noisy at night. Filthy outside area with discarded loo rolls outside the window. That mess was not new. The TV didn't function properly. One bedroon has punch hole in the wall. V disappointed generally.

Great location. Super easy check in. Highly recommend!

Perfect location to start seightseeing tours. Restaurants and pubs nearby. Wonderful view from the livingroom to the castle

I really liked the location. Even though it was a central location it quiet in the mornings and evenings.

the lighting in the living space of the apartment. There was little evening lighting over the table and all lighting had to be turned on at the same time.
