Dar 91 Essaouira

Beautiful house , full of artwork , clean and comfortable. Check-in was easy and smooth . Lots of restaurants nearby. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

The main street (vegetables market end) was dirty at night, so we walked south to avoid that part of the street. The reading room could have been turned into a bedroom, it already has it's own bathroom.

Dar 91 exceeded our expectations. The location is in an authentic part of the Medina and the people there are very friendly, in a non intrusive way. The hosts and their team were incredibly helpful. The accommodation is spread over three floors, very spacious, with many beautiful things to look at. Watching the sunsets most evenings from the double terrace was magic. It was a perfect week.

I’ve just returned from my three-day trip to Essaouira. As a solo female traveler I felt nervous at the thought of throwing myself into a complete uncertainty of an African country that I didn’t associate with anything other than the famous tangerines and film “Casablanca”. How wrong I was! I fell in love with Essaouira and my accommodation was just wonderful and unique! Dar 91apartments are situated within the Medina walls which means that everything you need is close enough to reach on foot (including the beach). The check in and out went smoothly and the house had everything I needed. My apartment was large, clean and functional. The WiFi had never failed me once and I loved my cosy bed. A big thank you to Paolo, who helped me massively with my numerous enquiries both prior to my trip and throughout my stay at Essauira. Opinion? Dar 91 is a beautiful accommodation. It’s a real jewel and the owners are professional and gracious.

Great place! We had an apartament with a terrace and it was amazing, three floors, a fireplace, comfortable bed, heaters, kitchen. I could stay there for a longer time.

Fantastic location tucked just inside the city walls where you can really live along with the locals and feel very safe as a solo traveller. The studio is clean, well equipped, hot shower and the bed (my personal highlight) was super comfortable. A bright and atmospheric space yet also an oasis from the bussle just up the road. The WiFi was all also strong. Paolo was a good host and very communicative and I would absolutely stay here again!

The riad is quirky and charming, with vibrant decor that brings a sense of joy and authenticity to the space. Everything was spotlessly clean, making it a comfortable and welcoming retreat. The terrace is a standout feature – a lovely spot to relax and take in the gorgeous ambiance of the city. It's perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or an evening under the stars. Paolo, the host, was exceptional. His attentiveness and dedication to ensuring our stay was comfortable made all the difference. He went above and beyond to make sure every detail was taken care of. If you're looking for a unique and relaxing place to stay in Essaouira, I can't recommend Riad Dar 91 enough!

What a great apartment! Perched on the city wall, a few doors down from the city’s oldest bakery and with a view of the sea from the roof terrace. This place was so comfortable and had lots of room for a couple. The building is really interesting itself, with a central air shaft for ventilation and who doesn’t love showering by candlelight? Beautifully furnished.

The stairs up to the first floor apartment are steep, especially on the way down. Not suitable for someone with mobility issues.
