Central Hidden Gem - Fremantle Apartment

Well located, easy walk to everything. Clean and little extras such as bottles of wine and a few basic fridge items were supplied. It was a nice touch.

Everything was great, but the lounge was a little tired.

Location is very convenient so it’s easy to leave the car in the safe car park to walk everywhere. Immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. Lots of little luxuries and amenities.

We arrived after hours (due to a cancelled flight). The instructions for afterhours access to the property did not work. Another resident let us into the property (sheer luck). Access to the flat itself worked OK. The bathroom was tiny - as a normal-size person, I could not have a proper shower let alone towel myself dry. Windows were essentially blind, and fly screens clogged with dirt. Several pieces of crockery were smudged and greasy. For a $120 cleaning fee (for our stay), I expected the flat and its contents to be clean upon arrival. The description on Booking.om listed a washing machine and dryer; they were on the ground floor in a common area (not a problem) but cost an extra $3 a pop each (should have been stated up front). The car park remote stopped working on a Saturday. My emails to Fremantle Apartments were not answered, not even on Monday. Our call to a mobile number was answered by a man who tried to fob us off ("it's not our problem"). He referred us to the building manager, but that person had his mobile disconnected for the weekend. Contrary to his assurance, the Fremantle Apartment man did not ring back, not on Monday either. From Saturday evening until Monday lunch time, we could not get the car out of the car park, upsetting our plans.

We loved the views in both directions, the cozy and tasteful decorations, the welcoming fridge additions, the ample warmth supplied by the airconditioner even during hail, the decent amount of airflow in the apartment.

Couldn't find any accessible power outlet in the second bedroom, the bookings.com description was poor and very hard to follow regarding when and where to get access etc. It almost left the impression there would be a reception we had to get to by a certain time. Their setup may be somewhat ok if this is the only place I am travelling to, but as we are on a longer trip with sometimes poor internet and mobile access - it is not nice to have to try to scramble to find out these things at the last moment. I would also have liked the option of being able to pay the deposit when I made the booking.

The location was absolutely fantastic. Walking distance to everything right in the heart of Freemantle.

The only improvement we can think of is to supply a plug for the sink in the bathroom.

The location, although not the best side of town, was very central, allowing easy access to everything Fremantle has to offer. The apartment was extremely well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, so our stay was comfortable and easy. We appreciated the extra touches in terms of the food and drink items provided. Nice to have ocean glimpses and the sea breeze wafting through the living areas in the afternoon. Although the apartment was in a large block, we heard very little noise if any from other apartments. Overall, it was very good value.

The apartment was not large. It may be a personal thing but I prefer ceiling fans over air conditioning in bedrooms.
