Brett's Rest Nel

Brett was very responsive and easy to reach with questions before and during our stay. The place was clean, well stocked, and exceeded our expectations. We loved the projector/sound system and the bar area the most, but the entire apartment was perfect for a few nights. The location is great for exploring the area. We’d definitely stay here again!

It was very rural so the night skies were so lovely. However it was not far at all from Kingscote, so easy to shop, eat out etc. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was nice and powerful. Brett has a super sound / movie screen system, so we could watch anything in supersized effect!! We had everything we needed and I’m sure if we had wanted anything Brett would have assisted. He was a very friendly host.

This is at the lower end of the price spectrum but represents excellent value…as long as you read the details you can’t be disappointed!

It’s not a 5-star resort; it’s an honestly presented cheap and cheerful place that exceeded expectations. If there’s something people don’t like maybe they chose the wrong place!

Nice area. We arrived when it was cold and windy. The lounge door kept the room warm. The bedroom had a heater. It was nice to have Netflix.

It wasn’t the cleanest place - we had to wash things up again. We didn’t like how open the middle is as there’s no glass front and back so there was lots of rattling with the wind the first night. Also when the projector is down (which is used as a wall) it was very dark.

Bed comfortable, but needs additional bed table and reading lamp. Ensuite / bathroom ok.

It was a nice size unit with everything we needed for our time on the island.

The only item I thought would be great to have, was a dish drying rack in the kitchen.

Being greeted by Chase, Brett's beautiful Blue cattle dog. Here, it's not about luxury; it's about immersing yourself in the raw beauty of your surroundings and detaching from the daily grind. Accommodations at Brett's Rest are humble yet comfortable, providing everything you need for a memorable experience. Forget fancy hotel rooms, here, you'll sleep under the stars in a thoughtful cabin equipped with cozy beds and blankets, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day of exploration. The shutter in front of the cabin goes up to accommodate a wonderful view while enjoying meals and when its down you can sit back and relax on Brett's AWESOME home cinema set up. And let's not forget about our host, Brett, whose passion for the island is infectious. With his expert knowledge of the area, he'll point you in the direction of hidden gems and lesser-known trails, ensuring that your time on Kangaroo Island is filled with unforgettable experiences. Just a top bloke with great vibes, he took the time to come over on the first day and show us all the bits and bobs around the cabin. You can also feel the love Brett has for Nel with the decor and heart inside this cabin.

This reviewing mechanism forces you to write two or three sentences in each box, so for that reason you may notice that I'm rambling on without actually reaching the eventual point, which is that there was absolutely nothing we didn't like about this cabin. it was perfect.

We loved our stay. Brett was really welcoming and caring, everything was clean and super comfortable. The place was well set up, had everything we needed and little extras like sounds system or the verandah with the sound of nature and birds. It was very relaxing stay and we will come again when coming to KI.

I stayed here on a work trip, the accommodation immediately gave me a really nice vibe. They have a large projector there so you can get super comfy at night. it gave me very warm beach shack vibes. I felt very comfortable there and would definitely stay here again. I will be recommending this to others i know.
