Brett's Rest Nel

Brett is really taking care of his place here. He called us in the morning to make sure everything was going ok, a very nice touch. Once we arrived to KI, we headed to cabins as we were kinda worried with some reviews. But we loved the location. It's a bit "far" from Kingscote -a 5 minutes drive- as i read in other reviews, but that is exactly what make this place amazing. The birds in the morning, the breeze in the evening... Before arrival Brett sent us an email with the instructions to arrive there, as it could be a little bit tricky and apparently Gmaps doesn't show the right way. On site Brett has 2 cabins, very easy to identify which one is the one you booked and there is a a safety box right next to the door with the keys in it to access the cabin. A few minutes later he passed by to show us all those little things that make your holidays special: the projector if you wanna watch a movie, the amazing sound system attached to it but with the option to connect your phone if you want to listen to your own music and don't make me start on the lights settings: they were really good!! You can have a very romantic night. The kitchen was good (to be honest we mostly had our meals on town). When we arrived we had some ice in the freezer ready to use it, another little touch that helped us on a very hot day. The bedroom was amazing, a very good bed, the towels were superb and the shower had a very good pressure, something that is not that easy to find. I recommend this place and i would defenitely come back!

booking.com is forcing me to write something here. There were no downsides for a 3 night stay. One could go: oh there is no aircon: well first of all there is one, a portable one. And to be honest: you dont really need it. You can open the windows and the front door in the evening to make the cabin cooler and that's all you need.

We had a comfortable 4 night stay at this location and Brett has considered your enjoyment and relaxation with a bar and projector to watch tv/netflix/movies on a huge wall, which we loved and now want one. Equipped with a fire pit and 2 aircon units to use, there are 2 upright fans and the breeze blowing thru doors and windows keeps it fairly cool. BYO hand soap and all toiletries, sharp knives and a dust buster helps. Chase the Blue Heeler will bring you his ball for play and is quite friendly, living on-site w Brett. This is a very quiet location, perfect. We thank Brett for his pet inclusion too. If you get up early enough the sunrise from the bedroom window is spectacular.

Nothing negative, tho suggest to host that with all the sand tracked in from the property that a small vacuum, and proper broom/dustpan for the house would be very useful for guests (we found the fireplace stuff but it didn't get up the sand).

Great place ,clean,quiet and you feel at home.totaally recommend this to anyone wanting a nice peaceful get away close enough to town and many great tourist attractions. We hope to go back again .thanks Brett the host for a great stay

Brett was very attentive, making sure I had everything I needed and explaining how everything worked. It's a nice relaxing space, very quiet with all the amenities you would expect.

I recently har the pleasure of staying at Brett’s Rest Nel for a weekend getaway and I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment we arrived, brett was there to welcome us went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The facility has a projector and sound system which was amazing and we loved spending our evenings with watching movies and music.

Brett was full of advice that took us to great places and even saved us some money. He was there on grounds for anything we needed. Our kids loved the huge screen, playing darts and with Brett’s dog Chase. We loved sipping a drink surrounded by nature at sunset. The beds were comfortable and we could only hear bird’s singing in the morning. It’s a bush cabin so expect to meet with nature!

We’ll have to come back for the bonfire under the stars!
