Brett's Rest Nel

The fact it was in a serene location with only garland around so wonderfully quiet with no loud disturbances. Enjoyed having the wall open up to enjoy natures view then close up to a full size movie screen. Thus envied lots of choices between what you wanted to watch and relax with wine and cheese whether opened or closed. There were heaters in the bedroom and kitchen area as well as a log fire in the movie room. Brett was always willing to help out with anything from sorting out getting the projector working to setting a fire. But he was not intrusive at all. You could cook as much or as little as you want. The bed was comfy and cosy.

Great location -peaceful. All that you need- separate bedroom, bathroom, living- bar area with fire and separate kitchen with another living area. A property with personality and a huge projector large screen TV

All good for our stay

We had a wonderful time here. Loved everything but especially the wood burning fire ...so cosy ..and the HUGE movie screen. Great value for money and perfect location too. Nothing was too much for Brett, who was always checking we were happy and everything was OK. Have to mention Chase .Brett's dog ...who was very friendly and kept us entertained. If you are looking for a place you don't want to leave then this is it .

Brett's place is a great little spot for exploring Kangaroo Island. Unique and awesome setup in the cabin with the fireplace that Brett sets each day, the projector with most streaming subscriptions included, although watching the incredibly clear night skies and sunrises from the comfort of the place are also great too. Brett and his sidekick pup are always around to help out with anything you need and very friendly. Closeby to shops and some lovely wildlife walks by the jetty.

We had a great time at Brett's, nice cabin with everything inside (kitchen, living room with a projector and a sound system, bedroom). Really a place to rest after day of hiking and sightseeing. 5 mins by car from town and supermarket, very quiet and surrounded by nature (saw birds, vallabies just nearby). Stargazing is incredible! One of the best places we've ever stayed at. Brett is always available if anything needed.

Everything was perfect

Absolutely amazing!! Close to the township with all the restaurants and shops, but on its own little land away from everything. Amazing projector to watch movies on and unwind after a long day. Well equipped with firewood fireplace and mozzie deterrents. Nice and spacious with separate bedroom, bathroom, living and kitchen/dining rooms. Clearly a place that’s been cared for.

Some noisy neighbours partying it up on a Friday night but we were so tired we slept through it anyway.

We enjoyed our stay and the host was very helpful. We particularly enjoyed our movie nights on the big screen. The location was convenient to travel for day trips to other parts of the island. We had a lovely stay.

We had a great 3 nights at Brett's Rest Nel cottage. Loved the full wall screen TV and movie projector which actually rolled up so we could look out at the night sky and let in some breeze.

The accommodation is close to nature, quietly located, and absolutely recommendable. It’s in excellent condition, clean, and offers everything you need to spend a wonderful time on KI. The special highlight is Chase, Brett’s dog, who is friendly and always up for a game of fetch.
