The property was set back from a main road and was very peaceful and quiet.

There was nothing I didn’t like it was perfect.

Bretts Rest is a great location. A beautiful spot to relax and unwind. The cabin was very clean and Brett was a great host checking we had everything we needed. He advised us on places to visit and was even kind enough to drop us off and pick up from the local KI Spirits, definately going above and beyonds his duties. The town is 5 mins away, so easy access to get groceries and go out for a meal. Definately recommend.

The property is well located if you have your own car. The property itself is well appointed, the bed comfortable. The lounge was good. It was nice to have a largish fridge and there were plenty of glasses, crockery. cutlery, cooking equipment supplied. Due to insulation and double glazed windows the property is very warm and quiet. The property is large enough for a couple to stay very comfortably. We stayed 7 nights. It is close to the main township of Kingscote which is a few minutes away by car. Kingscote has a supermarket for supplies, a bakery, a couple of hotels, a few other places to eat. We were able to buy some fresh King George Whiting and some fresh Garfish from the fish shop to freeze and take home with us.

It wasnt that anything was bad or we didnt like things, but maybe some suggestions to make the place just that little bit better. The bathroom could do with a shaving cabinet above the sink where the mirror currently is and some extra benchtop for make-up/toiletries and maybe a hair dryer for the ladies. An iron and ironing board wouldnt go astray either. It would be great to have a small electric or gas BBQ on the deck and maybe have a card table and a couple of fold up chairs that could be used inside to use for dining as it was a bit chilly to sit out on the deck at night.

The property was private and in quiet location and within a short drive from the main town. It was comfortable for spending many hours relaxing in and lovely to come back to after a full day exploring. We were there during winter and some pretty hectic weather yet we were warm and comfortable. Our host, Brett checked in with us once or twice, and let us know he was not too far away if we needed anything. Brett was very accommodating and it is lovely to be greeted by his dog Chase.

We had a great stay with our foster dog at Brett‘s Rest. We stayed in June and the cabin was nice and cozy and the shower hot. The dogs got on well and Brett was very friendly and attentive. Overall a great stay!

I just loved the whole vibe the place gave. From the moment we arrived and walked in it felt like the perfect get away home. So cosy. I strongly would recommend this for anyone who is coming to visit Kangaroo island you will not be disappointed I can promise you that much! Thank you Brett I will be sure to book this place again when I come back to KI

It's a nice comfortable cottage with quiet surroundings.

Difficult to find the cottage. Address is Samphire Road but easier to enter from Burdon Road down a unsealed dirt road. The blue signage 'Brett's Rest' should have the reflector as we had difficulties finding the blue signage in the dark, returning from dinner.
