Situated in a residential and quiet neighborhood neither too far nor too close from the city centre, a stay at the House of Forest is a peaceful retreat ideal for those who want to have solid privacy with all the amenities needed. It is recommended for those who are tired of hostels, digital nomads who want to maintain a life pattern, discerned travellers who want to be away from a touristy area, and alike. Sunshine gently light the room from the direction of head in the morning, and private and shared balconies offer serene time and a great view of the city as well as Stupa. Thamel and other major attractions are within a 15-20 min bike ride which is pleasant and affordable with Pathao, a local alternative of Uber. Transfer service was provided with a welcoming touch, which made my journey easy and smooth. They also stopped by a restaurant so that I could get dinner at the night of arrival.The owner is a friendly and accommodating person, fluent in English and French too. There are many mini shops and some restaurants and cafes nearby, one of which has amazing handmade yoghurt. A washing machine and a real coffee machine with beans were available which was convenient between trips and for my stay in general. All in all, it had what I needed for my wellbeing.

I loved my stay here so much first time around, that, after my four days in Pokhara, I came back for another stay. Feels like home. I love it here. Highly, highly recommended...

This is a wonderful and special place to stay... I am so happy I chose it. It is set in a very quiet, out of the city, residential area... very local and very, very pretty. It is a nice area to walk around. Lots of local stores and restaurants. And easy to get in and out of with the Pathao taxi app. Or a pleasant 25 minute walk to the ring road. The host, Dahdi, is an absolute wonder. A truly kind and caring man, so friendly and helpful, and he gives his all to make your stay such a happy one. The apartments are all lovely... So clean and comfortable... And the rooftop is so nice to sit at, with views to the hills and across the local area. I cannot speak more highly of the House of Forrest... Recommend it wholeheartedly.

Great location, much quieter than the centre and a nice neighborhood. The owner, Dadhi, was very welcoming and showed me to two local restaurants nearby, both were very good. Great views from the rooftop and a nice place to relax. Room was clean and had everything I needed. Washing machine easy to use which was also much needed!

This place is really wonderful. You have your own private apartment with everything you need. It's in a peaceful location near the edge of Kathmandu and the jungle. The balcony and rooftop upstairs have tons of space and nice views of the city. There is a washing machine for clothes too. Satellite TV channels and the WiFi works well. It's 5 star treatment for an affordable price. The owner is always ready to help. I will definitely come back if it's available next time.
