St Hilary Central Apartments

The property is in a good location in the town, close to the beach and on a main shopping street, but the negative factors far outweigh this.

We had problems from the outset. The property was advertised with parking, but this actually means a paid public car park a short walk away, which added £50 in parking costs to the price of our holiday. It was difficult to contact the owner to confirm that there was no private parking. The apartment was dirty and poorly maintained, to the extent that we had to buy throws to put over the furniture. The bunk bed in the second bedroom has not been constructed correctly and the ladder is loose, leading to my daughter falling off it whilst trying to get into bed. The bathroom window does not close properly, so any contents insurance will be void. The shelves above the sink appear to have been torn out of the wall and badly fixed. The apartment was noisy. The Subway below plays music all day when it is open, and one morning scaffolders were working and shouting foul language directly outside the child bedroom. On the first night, we were woken by a young lady hammering on the door of the adjacent apartment at 3am and shouting in the hallway. She appeared to be attempting to buy drugs from the neighbour and left a cigarette burn on the communal stairway carpet. She verbally abused my partner and only left when we threatened to call the police. The advertised washing facilities were a communal washing machine and tumble drier shared with the neighbouring flats, The machines are filthy and there was washing left in them for most of our stay. There is no bath mat in the bathroom.

The property was in lovely location where you have access to all amenities. Lovely spacious flat with all the facilities. Comfortable bed and we had a good stay

Location is fantastic. Really good value for money. Very comfortable and spacious.

The shower pressure is very poor.
