It was a bit complicated getting the keys as didn’t fully appreciate that it was from an office down the street. But once we got that sorted it was fine.

Limited time frame to collect keys. I was phoned whilst on the way from the airport at 18.00 even though I was informed I could pick the key up before 19.00 I only received the information and "charges" notification on the morning I travelled. e.g.€200 deposit €20 for late arrival etc. Fairly dated apartment, no air con, thankfully it was not very hot when I was there but it would be a struggle during hotter temperatures. I was there for 5 days last two days there was constant noise from building work in the block which I was not notified about, could not relax or enjoy the time because of that. Door to balcony lock not working. I notified the company on the morning after I arrived but it was not dealt with during my time there.

Nothing not to like

The location is brilliant. Right by the beach and some lovely restaurants. The property was clean & the bedsheets and towels smelled clean and fresh.

The property location

Lots of problems. Electrical sockets and lights were loose and dangerous. Security was poor, some windows would not lock, bathroom and kitchen was very poor and the property was dirty.

Excellent position

Washing machine had a leak that wasn’t fixed. They changed the lock on the buildings front door, we had gone to a friends 40th birthday party & on return to our apartment (at midnight) we could get in to the building.

The beds were rock hard, so much so our backs were starting to hurt after the first night, the pillows were the size of stamps, the toilet flusher was broken, hand prints all over the wall, wallpaper peeling, mismatch cheap furniture, broken blinds

The location of this place is unbeatable; right in front of the beach, with the promenade at your doorstep. The upside of that is the noise.

This apartment has seen better days. The building is old, the furniture in the apartment is old, and the bathroom is in dire need of a makeover. It's clean, and it has all the basics one could need — so long as wifi is not a basic for you — but it could be an amazing place if the owners would invest in bringing this prime real estate into the 21st century. What you're paying for is the view, which, from the sixth floor is fantastic, and being right in the middle of a busy tourist area of restaurants and bars, as well as right on the beach. Oh! And WATCH YOUR FLIGHT!! If you booked a flight that arrives after business hours, the realtor's office where you need to pick up the key of the apartment (a few annoying blocks away) will try to charge you a check-in fee!! We arrived to Quarteira at about 11pm and had figure out where this office was and ask several favors of random people to get in touch with a person who then took another hour to get there (I had notify the management of the date and time of our arrival about a week in advanced). He did not take us to the apartment himself, but merely gave us a set of keys and proceeded to fire up the credit card machine to charge us for the deposit and the check-in fee. I complained and finally he said they would not charge us the 30 Euros of check-in. Again, a small investment in technology would do the trick here; they need a combination box outside the apartment to leave the keys. When I suggested via email that the management leave the key somewhere to avoid all the "check-in" drama, the lady who answered the emailed seemed shocked at the idea of us retrieving the key from a non-person.
