1 Bedroom Apartment with Luxurious Design in SD

It was a very comfortable place. Good value for the price. Building felt safe. They supplied coffee!

Too many stairs for my bad knees. Restaurants and coffee shops are half-mile or more away. Difficult walking in the area due to hills. A lot of homelessness in the area. Walls are very thin. I could hear the person above me walking or if something was dropped on the floor.

It was very neat and clean.

I liked everything about the place

The apartment is very nice, organized and equipped, as shown in the photos. The best thing for us was the location, we would definitely stay again.

The location is next to Balboa Park, and close to downtown Gaslamp District, Sea Port Village, harbor cruise terminal….very convenient! The apartment feels like a home, the bed is comfortable, the living room/kitchen area, bathroom, bedroom all are designed and decorated with class, even the shower curtain is double sided, inside is clear plastic, long enough so that water doesn’t get on the floor.

The descriptions on how to unlock the doors - the unit door (3 units) and apartment door, is somewhat confusing. Reading about someone was concerned about the safety of the digital locks, I brought two Monsin door stop/alarms, one for the garden entrance and the other for the front door, and no worries. Parking next to the building is metered parking, from 6 pm to 8am is free; On Sixth Street right across from the building is free street parking all day. Garage parking pay $30 per day.

I appreciated the very easy and safe check-in process, which let us get settled right away upon arrival. It was also very easy to communicate with the host with questions. We picked this place because it was a very walkable distance to and from the downtown and Gaslamp area. At the same time, it was far away enough for us to return for a quiet retreat.

This is not a huge deal, but I was initially thrown off by some hardware that look a bit worn down. That's more of an aesthetics thing, but everything was functioning as needed.

Location

I like to have 2 bath towels per person. One hand towel- very clean but not enough either. Some noise from kids upstairs but that’s normal.

could hear the neighbors a lot

The property is close to everything in San Diego. And also at a nice location. It was comfortable for the most part.

Upon arriving at the property, I noticed an unpleasant smell reminiscent of dirty fabric or carpet. It appeared to be emanating from the sofa, curtains, and carpet. Additionally, there was a broken coffee table near the sofa, which was the first thing we saw as we entered the property. Initially, we had trouble opening the property following the instructions provided by the host. We attempted to contact the host for assistance but were unsuccessful in reaching them via phone. We did receive emails from the host, but it would have been helpful if they had followed up with our calls.
