Sunset View Self catering Cottage

We loved the cottage set up and the beautiful views from the location! Absolutely loved the hosts!

The only thing we did not like is that we couldn't stay longer!

Man sollte ja nicht zu sehr loben, da es dann unrealistisch klingt, aber hier war wirklich alles perfekt. Mehr geht nicht!! Eine Kurzfassung: es war ein sehr freundlicher persönlicher Empfang vom Eigentümer John und die ganze Zeit war John für Fragen auf Abruf für uns da / Das Cottage ist fantastisch ausgestattet (Küche mit vielen/guten Utensilien, Kamin inkl. Feuerholz, Picknickkorb für Wanderungen, Innen-"Terrasse" mit gleichem Ausblick wie der eigene Außenbereich mit Garten u.v.m.). Von der Terrasse hat man einen wunderschönen Blick über eine Talebene auf die dahinterliegenden Drakensberge mit u.a. dem SaniPass. Auf dem Geländer laufen 3 wohlerzogene Hunde, einige Hühner, Enten und Esel rum. Alle extrem liebenswert und unaufdringlich..... aber sehr schön, wenn man morgens mit dem ersten Kaffee in der Hand von allen "begrüßt" wird und dabei noch auf die Drakensberge sehen kann.

Shame we can't score 11 out of 10! In many years of self-catering around the world this would be the best equipped and decorated cottage we have stayed in! And the tariff is reasonable! Virginia should run courses for owners of rental cottages! We felt so welcome, by humans and the menagerie of animals and birds. The best night's sleep. Simply if you are looking to stay in the area, try to get a booking here. Never written a review like this in over 1000. Well done Sunset View.

That we only booked one night on our 8000km trip across RSA.

Superbly equipped and very tastefully furnished cottage with great views of the southern Drakensberg. Very clean and comfortable with a cosy indoor fireplace and an outdoor one as well. Virginia and John, and their dogs, warmly welcomed us and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We loved everything about the place and could not have made a better choice.

This is by far one of the best places we have stayed. John and Virginia are delightful hosts and their attention to detail is impeccable. The property is so well situated with amazing day light mountain views and night time star gazing opportunities on a blanket right next to a bonfire in the middle of winter. The fire pit was our favorite place to be and the occasional visits by the different animals on the property were highlights to our stay. The place was very cosy and extremely well equipped, down to the telescopic s’mores forks ;-)
