Nothing.

Smelt of sewage, bunk bed squashed into the main bedroom. Blinds didn’t shut fully. Left after a few hours as it was horrendous. Tried to get money back from yourselves and the apartment but no response.

Nothing the place absolutely smelt of rotten drains. We could not breathe in the place, the smell got in our clothes & hair. We left the next day & have told the owner & the person who is supposed to look after the place (her name was Sam). Neither have been back in touch regarding us leaving & the awful smell. We could not open a window as the flat was on a busy road. I will contact environmental health as no one should even consider staying at 161A Northgate, Darlington DL1 1TZ Flat 2, but they also had Flat 1 next door. The tiny bedroom had an old double bed in it & iron bunk beds. No pillow protectors, inadequate one on the double bed. Hardly any room to move. Old double wardrobe with 4 coat hangers in it. We purchased some new clothes, so we left our two coat hangers in their. The absolute worst place we have ever stayed in in our lives. Hopefully, I will be able to download the pictures I have taken. Thankfully, I can not download the smell of the place.

All written in 'what did I like'. Please, please make sure you do not book this awful place. Before we arrived I asked a number of questions, the owner told me I asked too many questions & said I should book somewhere else, then in his next text told me to go elsewhere as he did not want me to stay, this without answering my questions. I asked for my money back & he then apologised. All I asked was were their many stairs & if they provided tea, coffee, milk & sugar. Quite reasonable questions, I thought. But I honestly can not stress how smelly the property was. I am still breathing the stench up my nose & mainly on my chest. I washed all our clothes when we got home, even the ones we did not wear as the smell was all through the flat. Even washed our coats. Just all I could wash I did. Do not book this place, people with children please do ot book 161A Highgate, Darlington DL1 1TZ. PLEASE.

Not cleaned , hot water hit and miss, bed sheet not clean

Bathroom could do with updating a little. Scrappy shelves.
